Full-bodied with lots of rich yet well integrated fruit, great minerality, dusty, chewy tannins and a long finish. Drink in 2020. 2014 FREEMAN PINOT NOIR AKIKO’S CUVÉE (SONOMA COAST) Score: 95 A pinot that marries fresher notes of orange rind and wild-strawberry essence with tar, licorice and ivy. Medium to full body, plush yet crunchy fruit, layers of acidity and a fine, beautifully balanced finish. Pure class. Hard to resist now but better in 2019. 2014 FREEMAN PINOT NOIR YU-KI ESTATE (SONOMA COAST) Score: 93 Caramelized orange peel but then this brims with dried cherries, herbs, tobacco and even hints of leather. Full-bodied with ripe tannins, some fresh acidity and a dried-fruit finish. Drink in 2019.
