PROFILE

I am a location sound recordist and aerial photography pilot based in Dorset, UK, after previously working out of Manchester and London. I now work all around the world recording sound on location for factual TV series and films.

I have over 20 years experience, 15 as a freelance, and in that time my work has taken me from recording studios and dubbing suites to jungles, deserts and polar regions. From airports to zoos, and most places in between, morgues, mountains and mosques are just some beginning with M.

A useful addition to my skill set is aerial photography. I am a CAA qualified drone pilot, with PfCO (Permission for Commercial Operation) and I have filmed safely in many countries around the world, often as part of a small, independent crew, flying solo or as a 2 person flight team where I fly and the DOP controls the camera and gimbal. I look forward to working more and more with top cinematographers and this fantastic flying tool.

My greatest asset however is my understanding of the whole production. This comes not only with experience, workingwith directors, camera operators, researchers and experts but also from a willingness to get involved in the subject andengage with contributors.

BP Fuelling The Future Olympic and Paralympic Showcase – Graham English and Company, Sound Recordist and Sound Post Production, July 2012. As a principal sponsor of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, BP exhibited their showcase in a spectacular purpose built theatre on the Olympic Park during the games. Featuring a huge 360 degree video wall and a rotating floor, I recorded dialogue, sourced atmos and created the effects which were mixed on site in surround alongside Music Producer Stuart Bruce.__________
