INTERCESSORY PRAYER TEAM ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Role It is the role of the Freedom Intercessory Prayer Team to engage in targeted prayer throughout the entire semester so that:
God covers all of us and so that God’s presence is tangible and the Holy Spirit is experienced in all Freedom gatherings (Conference, small group meetings, leadership training, etc.)
Participants receive divine revelation from God as they go through Freedom
Participants form godly relationships with each other that help foster their spiritual growth
Freedom leaders and volunteers walk in unity and submission to our Lord Jesus’ authority, power and favor
Participants experience healing & breakthrough that brings them into a deeper, more intimate relationship with God
Responsibilities Each member of the Intercessory Prayer team will be responsible to do the following:
Commit to pray each week for Freedom throughout the course of the semester, preferably at a Freedom Prayer Small Group meeting
Participate as a member of the Intercessory team throughout the entire Freedom Conference
Attend two mandatory training sessions in the weeks leading up to the Conference.
Prerequisites for Being an Intercessor There are just two prerequisites to be an Intercessor:
Successful completion of Freedom (Small Group & Conference)
Willingness to pray regularly for Freedom
Page | 6
Intercessory Prayer Team Meetings The Intercessory Prayer Team will gather in the following meetings over the course of the semester:
Weekly Prayer Small Groups – each week during the semester, there will be Prayer Small Groups that gather together to pray for Freedom. Each week, the group will use the Prayer Guides found in this manual to target their prayers towards specific areas.
o If you are not able to make a Prayer Small Group, we ask that you still commit to take time each week to pray through the weekly Prayer Guide. It is very important that all Intercessors come to the Freedom Conference having already invested time and energy into praying for Freedom.
o Note that Freedom Prayer Small Groups are for members of the Freedom Intercessory team only.
Intercessory Prayer Training Session – All new members of the Intercessory Team must attend the 3 training sessions & the mock Conference. Previous intercessors may miss the first training session.
Freedom Conference – the Intercessory Prayer team will pray together during every session of the Freedom Conference, using the guidelines outlined in this manual.
Intercessory Prayer Team Leadership
Oversight – The leader in charge of the Intercessory Prayer Team is Claudia Laborde. Claudia will work with the other Freedom leaders to strategically target our prayer efforts based on the overall strategy of Freedom for that semester.
Prayer Captains – Each semester, there will be several Prayer Captains appointed to lead the Intercessory Prayer Teams. Prayer Captains will help disseminate communications to the team, coordinate the efforts of the Intercessors, lead weekly Prayer Small Groups, and guide efforts at the Freedom Conference.

Why We Pray
God’s Presence – God is always with us wherever we go, but we can experience Him in a deeper way when His “manifest presence” appears in our midst. God’s presence brings affirmation, revelation, and supernatural transformation. It is our hope as Freedom Intercessors that the tangible presence of God be at every single Freedom gathering, from training sessions to small groups to the Conference. We spend time worshipping God so that He can be exalted and His presence can be welcomed.
Divine Revelation – because Freedom deals with issues in our soul that can often be complicated, we all need special insights directly from the Holy Spirit to see where we have need of healing and deliverance. No amount of personal study or instruction from our small group leaders can compare with a direct insight from God on the issues holding us back. Freedom Intercessors lift up each participant by name to ask God to give each individual the revelations for areas of healing needed and also conviction on areas where humble repentance before God is required.
Godly Relationships – Freedom does not come in isolation. We need relationships with other believers to encourage us and urge us on as we go through Freedom. Freedom Intercessors pray regularly for deep, healthy, lifelong relationships to form between all of those who are participating in Freedom.
Leadership – Freedom would not be possible without the faithful service and tireless effort of the many leaders who give their time and energy to make this ministry happen (including the Freedom Intercessors)! We pray for the entire team that we all walk in God’s power and favor and divine protection. Aside from the many volunteer leaders who faithfully serve and make Freedom a success, please pray especially for the Leaders of Freedom and their families (Claudia LaBorde & Pastor Randy), as they can be subject of special attacks from the enemy. We intercede and lead and carry burdens on behalf of others through intercession. But at the end of the day we leave them all at the feet of Jesus, resting on the promise for those who are weary: Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:29‐30).
Miraculous Breakthrough – We believe for every person to experience miraculous transformation and breakthrough as they go through Freedom. The goal of Freedom is that we be sanctified and Christ‐like, emerging from the semester with a deeper identity as sons and daughters of God. We ask God to give people incredible breakthroughs that give them a deeper relationship with God, and empower them to be more effective witnesses of the Gospel to those around them.

Freedom Intercessors – Keys to Success Whether you are a seasoned intercessor, or are stepping into this sort of ministry role for the first time, it is important that you be aware of some necessary steps you must take as an intercessor to help ensure the success of your small group. Here are some important “Keys to Success” for you to keep in mind as you begin to serve on the team.
Pray Faithfully As you are probably learning at this point, there is a massive prayer effort that accompanies each semester of Freedom. The Intercessory Prayer team begins praying before the first week of small groups, and continues right through the Conference weekend. This prayer covering helps create an atmosphere where participants can hear from God and can feel safe to let Him bring healing and deliverance to their lives. The single‐most important thing you can do as an Intercessor is to commit to pray faithfully over the entire course of the semester. The key word here is faithfully. Don’t feel that Freedom’s success depends on the magnitude of your faith, the depth of your personal anointing, or the volume at which you pray! All kidding aside, what Freedom needs is for you to commit to pray regularly. Whether you are comfortable spending a long time in prayer each day, or can only manage 15 minutes, the importance is your faithfulness. Imagine each time you spend in prayer as adding a small rock to a pile. While you may feel as if your efforts won’t amount to much, when combined with the prayers of the rest of the team, we can build a mountain upon which God can take His throne. In the weekly prayer small group guides found on the following pages, you will find specific prayer points that you can use each week to help target your regular prayers.
Pray with Scripture The Bible tells us that God’s Word, when spoken, will not return void but will accomplish its purposes on the Earth (Isaiah 55:11). As Intercessors, one of the most effective techniques we can use is to incorporate Scripture directly into our prayers. This ensures that we are praying according to God’s will and saves us from trying to pray out of our own (very limited) strength. You will see many Scriptures listed in the prayer guides found in this manual. We encourage you to always have your Bible with you when you pray for Freedom so that you can easily access the many verses referenced on these pages.

Remain Connected The effectiveness of your prayers will greatly increase if you can pray regularly with other members of the Freedom Intercessory Prayer team. Strive to attend your assigned Prayer Small Group as much as possible. The enemy loves to isolate intercessors so that they feel cut off and become vulnerable to temptation and deception. One of the Leaders top priorities each semester will be to work with the Intercessor Captains to ensure that this does not happen. Keep in close contact with your fellow Intercessors not only to remain strong, but to strengthen your relationships as you head towards the Conference. You will work closely together as a team throughout the weekend of the Conference.
Use your Captain The intercessory team is led by the Intercessory Captains. Our Captains are individuals who have been trained in the ministry of intercession, and who have a special passion and calling to serve in this ministry. They are an extremely valuable resource for you in the coming semester. Your Captain will oversee your Prayer Small Group, and will direct your efforts during the weekend of the Conference. Make it a point to stay in touch regularly with your Captain. Your Captain can also help you process any insights you may be receiving from the Holy Spirit as you pray. Your insights may make a valuable contribution to our overall efforts as a team, and we encourage you to share what you have been hearing from God to your Captain so that they can provide confirmation and guidance. Just as you will be passing on your insights to the Prayer Captains, the Freedom Leaders & Pastors will also be relaying their insights to the Captains for dissemination to the team. The next section of this Manual contains weekly prayer guides for use in your Prayer Small Group. Note that these guides are to provide some basic structure, but over the course of the semester additional requests will be relayed to the Captains.
Walk in the Spirit One of the most common attacks of the enemy during Freedom is discouragement. Satan will find every way for us to not be a part of any ministry that aims to bring “Freedom in Christ.” The enemy wants to keep our brothers and sisters in Christ in slavery, and knows that the Intercessory Team’s prayers play a big role in helping people get set free. Remember, the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. One of the enemy’s tactics will be to keep the volunteers side tracked and discouraged. God’s Word promises us that those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed – not weary and beat down! (Isa 58:10‐12)

Preparation for the Conference The weekend Conference is an exhilarating experience for the Freedom Intercessors. You will literally be able to see your prayers answered right in front of you as the participant’s experience healing in each session. At the same time, the Conference requires a significant investment of your time and energy and it requires proper preparation. Follows are some steps you can take to prepare:
Attend all training sessions so you know your role and can function effectively as a member of the team
Join the rest of the Freedom leaders and participants in fasting the week of the Conference
Remain vigilant for attacks from the enemy, particularly leading up to the Conference
Get as much rest as possible prior to the Conference; live a healthy lifestyle and clear your calendar from any unnecessary commitments at that time.

Foundational Scriptures
Romans 1:16‐17 ‐ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God (the Good News of the CROSS is the POWER) to salvation (not only eternal salvation, but wholeness, health, peace of mind, prosperity, DELIVERANCE) for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from FAITH TO FAITH; as it is written, “The just shall live by FAITH.”
Romans 5:17 ‐ If, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:21 ‐ He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in Him.

I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD for I will forgive their iniquity, and THEIR SIN I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”
Hebrews 8:12‐13 ‐ For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” In that He says, “A NEW COVENANT,” He has made the first obsolete.

Hebrews 10:12 ‐ But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, SAT DOWN at the right hand of God.
Hebrews 10:18‐19 ‐ Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus BY A NEW AND LIVING WAY.
Hebrews 10: 21‐22 ‐ and having a High Priest over the house of God (there to remind God that it is all paid), let us DRAW NEAR with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
John 16:8‐9 ‐ And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

When He had DISARMED THE RULERS AND AUTHORITIES, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.
Colossians 3:1‐3 ‐ Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. SET YOUR MIND ON THE THINGS ABOVE, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: HE BECAME A CURSE, AND AT THE SAME TIME DISSOLVED THE CURSE. And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham’s blessing is present and available for non‐Jews, too. We are all able to receive God’s life, his Spirit, in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it.

I declare and proclaim this is MY DAY to lay down my life.
It’s no longer I that live, but Christ lives in me.

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Scripture on Baptism of the Holy Spirit Acts 10:38 You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit
and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
Acts 2:1‐2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
Acts 2:3‐5 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to
rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Matthew 3:11 He [Jesus] will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Acts 11:15‐17 “As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at
the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?”
Acts 1:8 And you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will
be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
I Thessalonians 1:4‐5 For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you,
because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction.
John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been
doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He
who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.
