Our Inaugural Hawaiian CYD concert celebrates 25 years of Children and Youth Day and this year’s theme: Ho’omau...For the Children...Mālama Honua. Featuring ʻOhana Genoa Keawe in concert with a Prelude of our own CYD keiki (children) and ʻōpio (youth) talents. A new CYD hula mele composed by Kamakakehau Fernandez will also be introduced. Want to learn the hula (dance) to this new mele (song)? All will be invited to join in. All ages and levels of hula dancers invited - hāpai (pregnant) mommies, babies, keiki, ʻōpio to kūpuna. Mauna ‘Ala is the sacred resting site of most Hawaiian monarchs and was created for Ka Haku o Hawai‘i - our little Prince Albert - the son of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV. We invite our children, families and community to participate in the official cultural opening of the CYD event. This annual ceremony will select children and youth from our community to lead our guests through a protocol ceremony recognizing Prince Albert and Princess Ka‘iulani, along with our ali‘i, who perpetuated the values of aloha through peace, forgiveness, unity and legacies. A remembrance time will be held in the Chapel. Ho‘okupu may be offered.

7:15 am • CATHEDRAL OF ST. ANDREW welcomes you for refreshments under the Aloha Tent.

8:00 am • CATHEDRAL OF ST. ANDREW — Hawaiian church service honoring our children and youth — this church was established after the passing of Prince Albert. Princess Ka‘iulani was also baptized and Queen Lili‘uokalani was cared for while residing at Washington Place. Join us for a wonderful celebration for all children and families of Hawai‘i.

8:45 am • ‘IOLANI PALACE — A private ceremony offering ho‘okupu of the Queen's Prayer.

PG13 ZONEThe PG13 Zone provides information on risky behaviors and health issues like Teen Pregnancy, Tobacco Use, STD’s including HIV/AIDS, Drugs & Alcohol, suicide prevention, sexual assault awareness and prevention, bullying, cyber safety, depression/anxiety, etc. for Teens 13 years old and up to encourage healthy choices and empower positive behaviors and wellness, and features Slammin’ Entertainment with DJ Chunky and the most amazing young talent of Hawai’i. FINANCIAL ZONEThe Financial Zone will feature banks and credit unions on-site to share information about financial services and children’s savings accounts, while nonprofits and the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs will have

resources to reach the entire family about managing their money, building credit, and realizing their financial goals. Located on Kalanimoku Grounds.

GREEN ZONELocated at Likelike Mall between ‘Iolani Palace and the State Library. Recycle your used eyeglasses and hearing aids and get the latest news about upcoming Going Green Recycling Community Clean-Up Days!

FARM TO SCHOOL ZONEThe Statewide Farm to School coordinator will host interactive keiki games and share farm-to-school resources to grow gardens, connect with farmers, and deepen keiki connections to their food and the ‘aina. Children, teens, and their families will learn about the importance of kalo (taro), and 1,000 kalo plants will be shared with the community to care for.

COSPLAY ZONEJoin The 501st Legion, Hawaii Hero Alliance, and Leah Rose inside the State Capital Auditorium as they wow you with their incredible costumes, makeup, and bringing characters to life! A variety of characters are expected to be in attendance, everyone from Disney princesses, to Star Wars Legends! Be on the lookout as they walk the grounds, interact with the crowd, and make appearances on the various stages!

‘IOLANI PALACE CULTURALACTIVITIES, TOURSFree admission to ‘Iolani Palace state rooms followed by a self-guided exploration of the galleries, which includes exhibits of select treasures from the Royal collection. Last tour entry 3:00 p.m.

A memorable day of hula, mele, games and activities for the entire ‘ohana on the historic grounds of ‘Iolani Palace. Demonstrations include lauhala weaving and growing uala (sweet potato). The public will enjoy free ukulele lessons, makahiki games, throw net demonstrations, local book readings, and beautiful Hawaiian songs and dance. KING KAMEHAMEHA VJUDICIARY HISTORY CENTERAli‘iolani Hale — located behind the King Kamehameha Statue on King Street — is the Hawai’i State Judiciary Building. Our museum is Admission Free.
