Where should I begin? Following this checklist will assist you in reviewing the integral components of your upgraded store:

1) Check the Software Upgrade Log for Items That May Not Have Upgraded It is possible that a few of your customers, orders, or products may not upgrade to your v7.x store. Viewing the Software Upgrade log will give you an indication of some of the issues that you may need to resolve, such as a customer not having a first or last name, or an e-mail address that has too many characters.

To view the Software Upgrade log: • On the home page of your Control Panel, click the ‘View Software Upgrade Log’ button.

2) Review Your Store Design The design of your v4.x store should upgrade to v7.x with no major issues; our expert designers and support team have conducted a thorough review and have made every reasonable effort to recreate the look and feel of your v4.x store in your new v7.x store. This includes your custom designed pages and HTML. However, there may be minor issues that you will need to review and fix.

To review your site design: • In the Control Panel, go to Design > Site Design.

• View your storefront. If there are any discrepancies, many of these minor issues can be handled through the Site Design page of the Control Panel. If you are unsure how to properly address the issue or have questions, you can contact the Software Upgrade team at [email protected].

• Be sure to check your template, your columns, the colors, fonts, and general styles of your pages. All of your custom pages and HTML have been upgraded to your new v7.x store but you should check these pages closely as well.

3) Set Up Your Payment Gateways The payment gateways you set up in your v4.x store cannot be upgraded into your v7.x store, so you will need to enter the payment gateways you wish to use for your newly upgraded store.

To set up your payment gateways: • Go to Operations > Payments in the Control Panel.

• Click the credit card payment method drop-down box and select the desired payment method.

• Click the Add button.

• Click the Edit button.

• Select the ‘Activate this payment method’ checkbox.

• Click the Save or Save & Return to save your new payment gateway.

4) Review Your Shipping Methods The shipping methods you set up in your v4.x store will be brought into your new v7.x store but we encourage you to review your shipping options to ensure you are comfortable with the options that have been selected.

To set up your shipping methods: • Go to Operations > Shipping in the Control Panel.

• Select the shipping methods that you wish to use for your site.

• Please note that you will have to re-register with FedEx® and UPS® to use their shipping methods. Click on the ‘Register’ links to begin.

• Note that you can now add a global handling charge that can then be combined with the shipping charge on the customer display.

• Click ‘Save’ or ‘Save & Return’ to save your new shipping methods.

5) Check Your Discounts and Enable Free Shipping (if applicable) Any store discounts you set up in your v4.x store should be upgraded to your v7.x store but we encourage you to review your discounts and modify them to suit your needs. You’ll find creating and editing discounts much easier in the v7.x software since all discounts are managed from one place. Also, the v7.x software has some new discount options that make it even easier to apply product level discounts to multiple products at once.

To modify discounts: • Go to Operations > Discounts.

• Add new discounts or edit existing discounts.

• Click ‘Save’ or ‘Save & Return’ to save your new discount or coupon.

6) Review Your Storefront’s Checkout Procedure It’s a good idea to review your purchase process from the customer’s point of view to see if there are any potential issues. Usually, these issues can be resolved in either the Design, Inventory, or Operation sections of the Control Panel.

If you encounter more complicated or serious issues, please email the Software Upgrade team at [email protected] and we’ll work with you to resolve the issue. 7) Review Your Store’s Tax Information While the 4.x cart forced you to manually enter the tax rates, v7 will automatically load the correct rates from our 3rd party tax rate provider. This allows the version 7 tax manager a level of at-the-moment tax accuracy not possible with the 4x store. In the version 7 tax manager, you can specify whether or not to charge tax at the state, county and city level.

The software upgrade process will bring over the states you’ve identified as tax-collecting states and will use the default tax rate from our 3rd party tax rate provider. The Software upgrade will not bring over zip-code level tax information.

If you wish to specify the counties or cities in which you collect taxes, you may use the tax manager to do so. A new addition to the version 7 store is the tax calculator which shows you exactly how the taxes being charged were calculated (visible on the order details page).

NOTE: Because the tax manager retrieves tax information for the cities, counties and states in real time, there may be a delay between your selection of a state, county, or city and the selection showing up on screen. Please give the system a few seconds to retrieve and display your latest selection before opening a new one.

To Setup Your Tax Information • Go to the Operations tab of the Control panel and click Taxes. This will open the tax

manager.

• Click on the check box to collect taxes for the entire state. This will also expand all the

counties for that state (and select each county for tax collection).

Clicking on the checkbox will select the state and every county in that state for tax collection. It will also expand the list of counties.

Clicking on the state name will expand the list of counties in that state.

• If you wish to select specific counties in the state, simply click on the name of the state and click the check box next to select the desired counties.

• If you wish to select specific cities within a county, click on the county name to expand the list of cities within the county.
