Lithuania is a country in Northers Europe, the largest of three Baltic States – 65 200 sq. km.


It is situated along the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea.


Lithuania is a very beautiful country with many rivers, lakes and woodlands.


It has a remarkable Curonian Spit, where Kuršių Nerija National park was established for its wonderful sand dunes.


The capital of Lithuania- Vilnius


26 km north of capital Vilnius is located Geographic Centre of Europe.


Lithuania is divided into 10 countries, which are named after their capitals:Alytus, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Marijampolė, Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Tauragė, Telšiai, Utena and Vilnius.

Lithuania is divided into historical and cultural regions with their indigenous dialects: Aukštaitija, Samogitia, Dzūkija, Suvalkija and Lithuanian Minor.


In 2012 in Lithuania lived 2956072 people. It has the most homogenous population in the Baltic states. 83,9 % inhabitants are ethnic Lithuanians who speak Lithuanian.


Lithuania is a catholic country with many beautiful churches like Vilnius Cathedral, St. Annes Church. St. Peter and Paul Church.


Near Šiauliai we have Hill of Crosses.
