The sec-ond memory that comes to mind isthe coming of age (age 9) and gain-ing independent access to theKohler pool (and spending 5 after-noons a week there). What was most memorableabout attending Kohler Schools, and how did the education atKHS help this grad attain theirgoals?

What I value most out of my ed-ucation is the small class sizes and

the attention that was able to bepaid to each child due to the smallclass size. In addition, being sosmall allowed for everyone to par-take in EVERYTHING - sports, student council, forensics, band, choir, musicals, plays. Mostschools have to exclude (throughtry outs or auditions) due to studentpopulation. At Kohler, you did notget cut - you may not be the star -but you could participate. This pro-duces well rounded graduates whoenter college with varied intereststo explore further.Tell us more about career, fam-ily, hobbies . . .

Upon graduating I went to SaintMary's College in Notre Dame, IN.I graduated in 2001 with a degreein Education. I moved to Milwau-kee after graduation and taught 1stgrade at 95th Street School in Mil-waukee Public Schools. After oneyear of teaching, I entered gradschool at Cardinal Stritch Univer-sity. Since it was an acceleratedprogram, I graduated in 20 months(2004) with my MS in Ed Leader-ship.

I also met my husband, Rob,while living in, teaching in, andgoing to school in Milwaukee. In2005 our first daughter, McKennawas born and we purchased ourfirst home in Kohler, where Iworked part time at Kohler Schoolto stay home with McKenna for

most of the day. After one year at Kohler School,

I took a position at Kohler Com-pany in HR. I started as an HR As-sistant, went into a Generalist role, and finished as Training Specialist.

While working at Kohler mysecond daughter, Riley, was bornand we purchased our second homein Ko hler.

After 5 years at Kohler, I was of-fered a Training Manager positionat Sargento. Two years in to thatamazing position, I was offered anopportunity to lead the Talent De-velopment department for theAmericas for Brady Corporation. Ihave been with Brady since De-cember of 2013.

My husband, McKenna (age 9),Riley (age 6) and I now live onSchool Street. My children are in1st and 4th grade at Kohler School- a bit surreal. I was the girl whocouldn't wait to get out of the smalltown, and as soon as I had children, couldn't wait to come back. Roband I feel very blessed to raise ourchildren in this community. If you grew up in Kohler, let usknow where you are and whatyou’re doing by completing the on-line survey at kohlervillager.com(click on “Alumni Survey”) or mailto The Kohler Villager, P.O. The celebrated line of jewel-likeRare Facet handmade chocolateshas expanded with a seasonal of-fering in support of Breast CancerAwareness Month. The new Straw-berry Balsamic Rare Facet is anexquisite dark chocolate shellfilled with a dark chocolateganache of strawberry puree andaged balsamic vinegar. These gemsare individually airbrushed with asoft shade of pink in support ofThe American Cancer Society.

“The collection of Rare Facetsare designed to offer a dramaticchocolate experience with the col-orings noting the robust flavorwithin the hard chocolate shell,”said Kohler Original RecipeChocolates Head ChocolatierAnette Righi DeFendi. “The

Strawberry Balsamic Rare Facetdoes just that with its smoothsweeter notes of strawberry ac-companied by the rich flavor of acarefully selected high-quality bal-samic vinegar.”

The Strawberry Balsamic RareFacet pairs perfectly with a Cham-pagne or a Sparkling White Wine.

“I have always preferred a bev-erage pairing with a bit of bubblefor most of the sweeter chocolatesdesigned by Kohler OriginalRecipe Chocolates and the Straw-berry Balsamic Rare Facet fits thispairing perfectly,” said Righi De-Fendi. “I prefer Tattinger Cham-pagne and Schramsberg Blanc deBlancs to help celebrate the com-plex flavors and tastes of this newchocolate.”
