11 Tesla Dipole Cable
Cable is mechanically unstable, 40 x 0.7 mm dia. strand, 14.95 mm wide.
PC01 had >5 popped strands on each layer, roped twice. MBH01 had 7 inner & 5 outer popped strands, roped 4
times Binder was used to repair each popped strand. MBH02 had 3 documented popped strands (DR) Implemented new procedure to use binder on each end
turn during MBH02 and all subsequent coils. MBH03 had no popped strands. MBH04 had 1 popped strand due to process mistake;
binder was not fully cured. Cable manufactured at CERN. All subsequent coils (MBH05-11) had no popped strands.

Used 180 degree cable twist between spool and coil
Distance between spool and center of table rotation is the same as used for the LHQ 3.8 m.
Cable tension ~130 N.
MHH 05 and subsequent coils
No cable twist used between spool and coil
Distance between spool and center of table is 2.67 m
Cable tension ~130 N.

Summary
11 Tesla Dipole cable is difficult to wind over the ends.
CTD-1202x binder provided mechanical support to the cable during winding of the ends providing a dramatic reduction of popped strands.
Negligible size increase due to binder. CERN’s 11 T coils using CTD-1202x binder
on every turn have had no popped strands. (Coils MBH105, 106, 107)
