That at all times her ein mentioned, the defendant,

Ancient and Mystioal Order Rosae C r u d e of the United States of

Amerioa, was and now is a voluntary association composed of more

than two persons associ ated in Busin ess and transact ing Business

under a oommo n name; that the aommo n name By whi ah said ass oci

ation is known and under whi ah it transacts Business, is Ancient

and Myst ica l Order Rosae Crucis of the United States of Amerioa.

That the said associ atio n consists of a large number

of members; that said defend ant H. Spe ncer Lewis is Imperator

thereof; that said def end ant L. Law fen oe is supreme Gra nd Treas*

urer thereof; that defenda nt A. B. Bras sard is Fina noial Sec re

tary thereof; that the defendants First Doe, Second Doe, Third

Doe, Fou rth Doe, F ift h Doe, Sixth Doe, Seve nth Doe, Eig hth Doe,

No. 34, In the amount of One Thousand ($1,000.00) dollars, a

That in said hond, defendants agreed to pay interest

on the 1st day of Jul y and first day of Janu ary of ea ch year;

that althou gh plaintiff has often demanded paymen t of said inter

est from said defendants, the defendants have failed and refused

to pa y said intere st from Janua ry 1, 1917 to July 1st, 1923, or

any part thereof; ( that there is due, owing and unpa id from the

to the bearer in the principal sum of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS United

States gold coin of the present standard of weight and fineness,

and promis es to pay said sum on the firat da y of Jan uar y whi oh

will be in the year 19P7, and a lsoto pay interest thereon at the

rate of six per oent per ann um in like coin on the first day of

Januar y and July in eaah year until said princi pal sum be fully

paid. Payment of the prlnoipal hereof shall be made only upon

the prlno ipa l office of the Orde r in the Cit y of New York; and thle

payment of the interest upon this bond shall alBO be made by the

Counol l of the World under Pronunoiam ento No. 907,6 01 (hereinafter

called the Order) hereb y adknowledges itself indebted to the

bearer in the principal sum of TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS United States

gold coin of the present standard of weigh t and fi ne ne ss , and

promiaee to pay said sum on the firat day of January whioh will be

in the year 1927, and also to pay interest thereon at the rate of

Bix per oant par an nu m in like coin on the firs t day of Janua ry

and July in each year until said princi pal sum be fully paid. Pay

ment of the prlnoipal hereof shall be made only upon surrender of

this bond to the Supreme Grand Treas urer Gen eral at the princi pal

offioe of the Order in the oity of Ne w York; and the pay meh t of

the interest upon thiB band shall also be made by the Supreme Granjd

Treasurer General at the place aforesaid on the dates when B&me

becomes due.

This bon d is one of a series of bon dB of the Order of

like tenor (but not neoc asa ril y of the same date or amount),

amounting tn the aggregate to the sum of $25,000 numbered consecu

tively. Thie bond is red eema ble at tha opt ion of the Order at ite

faae value and interest on the first of Janu ary of any year before

the maturity thereof, on its being called for the purpose of redenjp

tion and on notioe thereof given in the official publication of

the Order at least one month preced ing the said inte rest date.

After such interest day designated for presentation and redemp

tion, all interest on this bond, if it be b o called for redemp

tion, shall cease. This bond shall be negotia ble when transfe r id

made on books of the Order.

This bond is entitled to the security offered by the

royal support of the Order; the reven ue deri ved from the pu bl ic a

tion known as "The American Rosae Cru de "; and by first lien on

all properties of tha Order.
