2. ForeachsolemnityandfeastaproperMassisprovidedinitsentirety.Thisisthereforeusedasgiven.

3.Formemorials:

TheMasses in the propermay also be celebrated as votiveMasses,with the exception ofMassesof themysteriesof the lifeof theLordandof theBlessedVirginMaryandMassesofcertainsaintsforwhomaspecialvotiveMassisprovided.WhenMassesfromtheproperareusedasvotiveMasses,wordsintheprayersreferringtothedayofdeathortothesolemnityorfeastareomittedand“memorial”or“commemoration”issubstituted.Iftheentranceantiphon,“Letusrejoice”occurs,itistobereplacedbyanotherantiphonfromtherespectivecommon.

TheMostHolyNameofJesushasalwaysbeenhonoredandveneratedintheChurchfromtheearliesttimes,butonlyinthe15thcenturywastherealiturgicalcult.St.BernardineofSiena,aidedbyotherFranciscans,especiallyBl.AlbertofSarteanoandBl.BernardineofFeltre,veryzealouslyandferventlydiffuseddevotiontotheHolyNamethroughoutthewholeofEurope,untilitwasfinally established as a liturgical feast. In 1530,ClementVII authorized theFranciscanOrder tocelebrate thedivineofficeof theMostHolyNameofJesus.Althoughthefeastneverdisappeared from theCommonFranciscanCalendar, itwas removed from theGeneralRomanCalendarin1970.PopeJohnPaulIIrestoredthefeasttotheGeneralCalendar,withtherankofOptionalMemorial,whenherevisedtheRomanMissal in2002.ForFranciscans, the textsareproperFranciscantexts,andthefeastenjoystherankofMemorial.

ClaricewasbornatVignanello(Viterbo)Italy,in1585,thedaughterofMarcoAntonioandOttaviaOrsini,ofthefamousRomanprincelyfamily.At20yearsofage,heenteredtheConventofSanBernardinoinViterbo,whereshetookthenameHyacinthe.RatherthanbecomeaPoorClare,shechosetobeaFranciscanTertiarynotboundbystrictcloister.Forabout15yearsshelivedreligiouslifein“muchvanityandfoolishness.”DuringanillnessshereceivedthegraceofGod—atotal,sincereconversion.Overthenext24yearsshelivedinpovertyandheroicpenance,andclimbedtothehighestlevelsofChristianperfection.Althoughlinkedtothecloister,shewasactivelyinvolvedinapostolicworks.Tothepoor,thesufferingandtheimprisonedshededicatedher charity,material aswell as spiritual. She died on January 30, 1640. Shewas beatified byBenedictXIIIonJuly14,1726andcanonizedbyPiusVIIonMay24,1807.HerremainsarekeptinthechurchofthefriaryofSanBernardinoinViterbo.
