1. Create a quiet place for homework

About 20 minutes should be spent on each homework in Year 7. There may be one, two or three pieces of homework a night. Students are normally given more than one night to complete a homework.

General PE Questions

1.Does my daughter need a rugby top or will a hoodie suffice?

Either is fine but the vast majority wear PE hoodies. A rugby top is needed for boys.

2.Is there a need for football boots / socks?

Boys needs these items for both football and rugby.

3.When are the best times to buy differently items of PE kit?

They should all be purchased for the start of term as there is a use for all items of kit.

Two pairs – one for indoors (non marking) and one for outside that may get muddy.

1.Who do parents contact with any concerns?

Form tutors should be the first point of contact for most concerns. Anna Harvey should be contacted if your enquiry is related to learning needs. Reception staff can direct you to the relevant member of staff if you are not sure. Email addresses are available via our website.

2.When should French dictionaries, calculators etc be purchased?

It is not necessary to purchase dictionaries as they are made available in lessons. A calculator will be required for the beginning of term and can be purchased from the Finance Office.

3.What equipment does my child need for lessons?

The basic expectation is for students to have pens (black or blue), pencils, a ruler and a rubber.

As soon as possible if you have not ordered / purchased it already.

Yes, but they should not have them out or switched on in lessons.

6.What should my child do if they feel unwell in school?

Tell your teacher, who will decide whether to send you to reception with a friend. Parents / carers will be contacted if the staff with first aid training have concerns. If it is break / lunch time students should go straight to reception.
