Fraction Scene Instructions:

SNOWMAN Materials Needed • Snowman Scene Task Card (Differentiate using the “Reducing” card or the “No Reducing” card) • Blank Snowman Paper • Crayons or markers of various colors

Directions Students must use their knowledge of fractions to create a snowman scene! Have students decorate their snowman page according to their snowman task card. Students who are able to reduce fractions should use the REDUCING Task Card. Students that are unable to reduce should use the NO REDUCING Task Card.

Snowman Scene Task Card NO REDUCING

1.  Draw 2 eyes on your snowman. Color 1/2 of the eyes red and the other 1/2 blue.

2.  Draw a mouth with 4 teeth on your snowman. Connect 3/4 of the teeth to the top of the mouth and 1/4 of the teeth to the bottom of the mouth.

3.  Draw 8 buttons on your snowman. Make 2/8 of the buttons yellow and 6/8 of the buttons green.

4.  Draw a hat with 6 stripes on your snowman’s head. Color 3/6 of the stripes blue and the other 3/6 purple.

5.  Draw 10 snowflakes around your snowman.

Place 4/10 of the snowflakes to the right side of your snowman and 6/10 of the snowflakes to the left side of your snowman.

6.  Give your snowman arms!
