Join the Youth Group for Rosary at 10:15 on

July 21st.

The YG will, once again, lead the Rosary prior

to the 11 am Mass. All are welcome to join

them! There will be a YG mee4ng a5er Mass. As always,

your friends are welcome to join us!

Dear Friends,

“From the perspective of Faith, the other side of every GOODBYE is a NEW HELLO!!!”.

I know that all of you are missing Fr. Anthony. I know him from the time he entered the Minor Seminary in India, in the year 1998. We the Priests in the seminary used to call him “saint” and indeed I am sure you will agree with me that he is a holy person. He has served you in this Parish collaborative as your pastor for the past four years and I am very greatful and thankful for all that he did during his stay here. As our gratitude let us keep him in our prayers for his successful ministry at St. Joseph in Kalamazoo.

This weekend the Church invites us to be Martha and Mary. The Gospel account of Martha and Mary along with the Old Testament account of Abraham meeting in his three guests, give us an occasion to examine the notion of Personal Presence to others and more especially our Personal Presence to God in Jesus Christ.

As I reflect on the readings of this weekend, I will try my best with help of God and with the help of your prayers to be available as Martha and Mary. I will try my best to be available for all of you as your spiritual leader (Pastor) in this parish family. At the same time, I will try to follow Mary to be present at the feet of Jesus, praying for all of you in my humble prayers. And I request all of you to pray for me as I take this responsibility of being (Pastor) your spiritual leader.

I am really excited and privileged to be your pastor as I have entered into my 25th year of my Priestly life. As I take charge today (15th July 2019) I look forward to meeting all of you and your family in the course of time.

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing.

Yours in Christ & Mary, Fr. R. Mathias, MSFS

Welcome to Alondra Sanchez-Castro who was baptized in the faith last Saturday at Immaculate Conception. Alondra’s parents are Martin & Esmeralda.

Michigan’s Constitution allows the people to initiate legislation through a petition drive. Currently, the Catholic Church, Right to Life of Michigan, and other

pro-life individuals are collecting petition signatures for legislation to amend the state’s partial-birth abortion ban to include a ban on dismemberment abortion. This approach is needed as the language cannot be vetoed by the governor. Learn how you can get involved at www.micatholic.org/MichiganValuesLife/.

From the Principal…From the Principal…From the Principal…From the Principal… Dear Parishioners,

Cross Memorial Update: Cal Harshberger has been hard at work constructing our cross memorial to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Immaculate Conception Catholic School. The brick work is complete and for now the project is under wraps. We would like to make the grounds look as beautiful as possible for the dedication of the memorial with Bishop Bradley. On Saturday August 10 we will be cleaning up the school grounds and would welcome as many hands as possible. Please join us from 9a.m. – noon and bring any of the following items; work gloves, rakes, trimmers, and shovels. A picnic lunch will be provided for all volunteers!!

Tuition Angel: Our school has pledged not to turn away, for financial reasons, any Catholic family who desires to attend our school. In order to operate there must be tuition. The School Commission, Trust Board, Administration, and staff of I.C. strive to make our programs affordable. Tuition can still however, be a struggle for some families. As we grow there is an ever-increasing request for tuition assistance. Please prayerfully consider becoming a tuition angel by contributing to the Immaculate Conception scholarship fund. It is easy and can make a huge difference in the life of a child. Simply drop off, mail, or place a check in the Sunday collection basket. Monthly envelopes can be found in your quarterly mailed contribution packet labeled school tuition assistance. You may also use a debit/credit card by contacting the school. Thanks in advance for your generosity.

Trust Board: We have filled our Commission seats

but are still looking for someone to sit on the Trust

Board. If interested, please contact the school.

In Christ’s Peace,

Mrs. Sharon Voege
