FPSO Gimboa The new Saipem FPSO vessel Gimboa, an FPSO conversion of the oil tanker formerly known as T/T Magdelaine, will operate in the Angolan Gimboa field. This field is situated in block 4/05, approximately 85km off the Angolan coast at a water depth of approximately 450m. The field is operated by Sonangol, on behalf of Norsk Hydro, Angola Consulting Resources and SOMOIL. Recoverable reserves of this field are estimated at 50 million barrels of crude oil equivalent. The FPSO is designed to produce 60.000bpd of crude oil and 60.000 bpd of water out of three production and four water injection subsea wells. The separated crude oil is stored on the vessel in cargo tanks with a total capacity of 1.8 million barrels where it will be kept for offloading. The water is desulphated and then re-injected into the production wells. The produced gas will be mainly used for energy production and for enhancing the production liquid flow by heating the re-injected water. The remainder of the gas is compressed and routed via an export pipeline to shore. The offloading metering skid was engineered, constructed and installed by ODS metering systems. The new flow metering system monitors and controls the three flow meter runs and bi-directional sphere prover, and provides all required cargo offloading and diagnostic reporting facilities. The entire offloading metering system is controlled by a Server-Client eXLerate 2003 application communicating to the flow computers and a station PLC for metering and station control. The server is situated in a local equipment room, the client PC is situated in the Central Control Room for direct accessibility of the cargo operators. The supervisory computer is the primary interface to the metering skid but is also connected to the onboard Invensys Control System for data hand-off of metered values and diagnostic information. The eXLerate application, designed and installed by GSD automation software, provides color mimic displays including all required data of flow computers and associated equipment, including batch and cumulative totals. The server-client system provides full data transparency and true flexibility for the operators in the day to day operation of the offloading metering skid. GSD Activities : - Functional design, detail engineering and programming of the Server-Client based eXLerate application - Commissioning and start-up assistance of the metering skid, onshore and offshore.

GSD Activities :

- Functional design, detail engineering and programming of the Server-Client based eXLerate application

- Commissioning and start-up assistance of the metering skid, onshore and offshore.
