There is always plenty to do, not only for Fr Lucius and myself and Sharron, Kath and June in the office, but for all of us, as we go about our daily lives seeking to follow Jesus. Whether at home as families, as children and teachers at school, as workers in our places of employment, through the multitude of volunteer activities in which we are engaged to help others, in simple times of quiet, our gathering together to pray, or simply chatting across the fence,so to speak, we are aware – more and less at times – of the graciousness of our God, who draws into Life. As response to the joys and the sorrows, the challenges and successes of this last year we can take a moment to give thanks and be grateful for Jesuspresence to us. Gods Spirit moves with us in every moment of our days, and we are blessed! In the midst of the ordinariness of this past year, we have had the challenge of the amalgamation of our parish with Stanley River. This has not always been easy: difficult decisions have had to be made, and brought about significant change, there has been loss and sadness as well as excitement for how the Spirit will move with us into our new reality as Living Waters Parish. Thank you all for your advice, suggestions, participation and understanding through the process of bringing our new parish to birth. And it is in this birth that the celebration of Jesusbirth at Christmas is especially relevant for us. This year, we hold each other as family of faith with our brothers and sisters of Stanley River Parish in a new birth. Let me then conclude with Archbishop Marks final words of the Decree of Establishment of Living Waters Parish, which also arrived today! He says: In Johns Gospel, Jesus offers living waterto the Samaritan woman at Jacobs well. May the rivers and waterways of this new parish always be a reminder of Jesuspromise of this living waterand may it become, in the people, a spring of water welling up to eternal life. We ask that Our Lady, Mother of God, and Mother of the Church, intercede with the Father for rich blessings to come to Living Waters parish through Jesus Christ and in the Power of the Holy Spirit. For me, May the God of joy and hope fill you all with peaceful blessings this Christmas. Peace be with you. Fr David

Fourth Sunday of Advent

21st / 22nd December

A Blessed and Peaceful Christmas to All!

Sitting down to write today, I’ve just returned from a quick trip to Woodford, visited the Caboolture Hospital, made another visit to one of the district’s aged care homes, and had a conversation with a family, who took the time to stop off and see me on their way for a day at the beach, to offer me their Christmas

blessing – a delight!; Fr Lucius has celebrated Mass and visited some of our sick, and has just left the office, called out to someone in need; in passing we spoke of how we are both looking forward to celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation tonight, and, of course, Christmas across the Parish with you all, in a few days’ time. There is always plenty to do, not only for Fr Lucius and myself and Sharron, Kath and June in the office,

but for all of us, as we go about our daily lives seeking to follow Jesus. Whether at home as families, as children and teachers at school, as workers in our places of employment, through the multitude of volunteer activities in which we are engaged to help others, in simple times of quiet, our gathering together to pray, or simply chatting “across the fence,” so to speak, we are aware – more and less at times – of the graciousness of our

God, who draws into Life. As response to the joys and the sorrows, the challenges and successes of this last year we can take a moment to give thanks and be grateful for Jesus’ presence to us. God’s Spirit moves with us

in every moment of our days, and we are blessed!

In the midst of the ordinariness of this past year, we have had the challenge of the amalgamation of our parish with Stanley River. This has not always been easy: difficult decisions have had to be made, and brought

about significant change, there has been loss and sadness as well as excitement for how the Spirit will move with us into our new reality as Living Waters Parish. Thank you all for your advice, suggestions, participation

and understanding through the process of bringing our new parish to birth. And it is in this birth that the

celebration of Jesus’ birth at Christmas is especially relevant for us. This year, we hold each other as family of faith with our brothers and sisters of Stanley River Parish in a new birth. Let me then conclude with

Archbishop Mark’s final words of the Decree of Establishment of Living Waters Parish, which also arrived today! He says: “In John’s Gospel, Jesus offers ‘living water’ to the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well. May the rivers and

waterways of this new parish always be a reminder of Jesus’ promise of this ‘living water’ and may it become, in the people, a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

We ask that Our Lady, Mother of God, and Mother of the Church, intercede with the Father for rich blessings to come to Living Waters parish through Jesus Christ and in the Power of the Holy Spirit.” For me, May the God of joy and hope fill you all with peaceful blessings this Christmas.

Peace be with you.

Fr David
