As we say goodbye to last year, we remember all the memories we’ve had together and the good times we’ve enjoyed! This past year has been has been fun filled and exciting. December was jam packed with Chanukah and Christmas Celebrations, our new residents council was nominated, and our New Years Eve Party brought the year to a great close. We at Four Elms wish you a year full of health, laughter and happiness in 2018. We look forward to making new memories with you in the year to come!

New Initiatives This month, we are launching a new
initiative on Jan. 15th
called “Art &
Dementia”. It is an art program which
aims to investigate how the effects of art
can help those with dementia. It will be
facilitated by students from York
University who are conducting a research
study on the therapeutic effects of art!

Fitness With the New Year come new and exciting programs that will be taking place at Four
Elms! On Monday, Jan 8th, we have a special fitness program brought to us by
RevitaHealth called “Learning to Waltz” fitness. All residents are welcome to join in
the fun and rekindle your love for dance!
Better Living classes will resume on
Wednesday, Jan 3rd. Please refer to the calendar for class times.
For those in the Leg Strengthening closed
group, classes will take place every Tuesday this month at 3:30 p.m. in the Gym.
Resident & Employee of the Month
The resident of the month is an individual who
displays a helpful, cooperative and positive attitude
towards other residents and staff. They are willing
to help others, are an active participant in resident
life and make a personal effort to "go the extra
mile”.
The employee of the month is an individual who is
dedicated and dependable to fulfilling their job.
They are helpful and friendly with staff and
residents and are a positive contributor of Four
Elms.

Life Enrichment Corner A huge thank you to those who donated to
the clothing drive! We were able to
provide so many clothes to those in need.

required, please make a note when registering in order for arrangements
to be made in advance. Please be committed to attending all outings you sign up for and do not cancel at
the last minute.
Health & Wellness
We have invited Eyecare Express to provide an informational session on Thursday, Jan. 25th from 11:00 a.m. –
11:30 a.m. in the Activity Room. All residents are welcome to join!
Blood Pressure Clinic will be held on
Friday, Jan. 19th in the Spa.
Just a friendly reminder to everyone that if you are feeling sick, having some symptoms of the flu such as
fever, cough, runny nose or sneezing, please do not hesitate to call the
nurse on duty so you can be taken care of.
