Foundation Design Fall Semester 2016 Myron E. Ullman School of Design DAAP/ University of Cincinnati
Design SquaresDescribe the techniques used, the character of the marks, and the relationships among the 4 textures.
Design Square BooksAfter tracing the designs on illustrator, I made a matchbox book and a seven inch accordion book.
5
Photo Archive The project was to take seven photos every week from the beginning of the semester to the end. The photo subjects were anything we found interesting and able to capture.
6
Photo Archive BookAfter taking photos all semester, I was given an assignment to create a book out of the best twenty images and some poetic form.

Texture Body Mantle
Texture InstallationA group project that came from an individual texture making assignment. We choose the best texture (displayed on the left) and began creating a spiral triangular piece mock up. After testing material and deciding on chip board, chicken wire, and spray paint, we began creating the actual installation.
9
Body MantleThe assignment was to create a garment like piece out of household items (at least 100) and one connector. I used 1400 coffee filters and string.

Organic Shapes and ContourThis section of the semester focused on line weight and organic lines. Plants were the main subject of all drawings and value was very minimal.
13
Perspective The portion of the semester was to teach us about perspective. I learned one point, two point, and three point during this time and for my final project drew a hair straightener in two point perspective.
14
PortraitsThe last few weeks of the semester was dedicated to value and portraits. With the final project being a self portrait (the top right).
15
SketchbookDuring the semester, I was asked to draw a sketch a day. The sketches could have any subjects but prefer to be along the lines of what was being taught in studio.
