On December 28, 2010 the U.S.

Consumer Product Safety Commission

(CPSC) implemented sweeping new

crib safety standards for traditional cribs

made from steel and wood. In addition

to eliminating drop-sides, they require

extensive new structural enhancements,

new labeling, and allow for alternative

designs for accessing infants such as a

Foundations’ SafeReach™ Crib. Under

the new laws, child care cribs that are not

compliant to the new standards published

on December 28, 2010, must be

replaced by December 29, 2012.
