Foundation Day: How To Make A Change
Foundation Day: How To Make A Change
Foundation Day
• Holy wine ceremony (including the confession and resolution)
• Mother declaring the start of Cheon Il Guk• Receiving the blessing again (my 4th
wedding!)
Foundation day
• The big question now is how do we make use of this opportunity that has been given to use?
• What are we going to do, starting from now?• How are we going to be different? • What changes do we need to make? • To manifest cheon il guk we need to start with
ourselves, and more specifically our minds
• “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make Heaven of hell, and hell of heaven.” – John Milton
Me, 7 years old
My life situation growing up
1. Parents have always had a bad relationship2. My Mom got physically and mentally ill and
was unable to take care of us for many years3. Our family struggled financially4. Bullied in school from 1st grade to 9th grade
Beliefs I held because of this
• About myself– I am weak– I am incapable– I am unlovable– I am a failure– I am a bad person– My thoughts and feelings are not important– I have no value– I am not a confident person– I cant do a lot of things– I have to comply to what other people want me to do
• About others– Everyone else is smarter then me– They are better then me– I will never be able to have what they have– Other people live happier lives then I do
Beliefs I held because of this
• About life in general– Life is scary– Life is miserable– Life is hard– I am a victim of my circumstances and there is
nothing I can do to change that
Beliefs I held because of this

Eckhart tolle – The Power of Now
Have you ever experienced, done, thought, or felt anything outside the Now? Do you think you ever will? Is it possible for anything to happen or be outside the Now? The answer is obvious, is it not? Nothing ever happened in the past; it happened in the Now. Nothing will ever happen in the future; it will happen in the Now. What you think of as the past is a memory trace, stored in the mind, of a former Now. When you remember the past, you reactivate a memory trace - and you do so now. The future is an imagined Now, a projection of the mind. When the future comes, it comes as the Now. When you think about the future, you do it now. Past and futureobviously have no reality of their own.
Eckhart Tolle – The Power of Now “ - Let me ask you this: can you be free of your mind whenever you want
to? Have you found the "off" button? - You mean stop thinking altogether? No, I can't, except maybe for a
moment or two. - Then the mind is using you. You are unconsciously identified with it, so
you don't even know that you are its slave. It's almost as if you were possessed without knowing it, and so you take the possessing entity to be yourself. The beginning of freedom is the realization that you are not the possessing entity - the thinker.
Knowing this enables you to observe the entity. The moment you start watching the thinker, a higher level of consciousness becomes activated. You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence beyond thought, that thought is only a tiny aspect of that intelligence. You also realize that all the things that truly matter - beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace - arise from beyond the mind. You begin to awaken.”
• While conditioning can have a strong impact on our lives, we are not determined by them.
• There are three widely accepted theories of determinism: – Genetic – Because our nature is coded in our DNA and we
have certain character traits from our ancestors we are the way we are and we can or cant do certain things.
– Psychic – Because our upbringing determines our personal tendencies, and the emotional pain that we felt at a young age is remembered, we are the way we are and we can or cant do certain things.
– Environmental – States that factors in our present environment are responsible for our situation, such as relatives, the national economy etc.
Next, Changing limiting believes
Free your mind!
Changing limiting believes
1. Identify them and where they originate2. Recognise that you can act despite of them3. Replace them with the positive opposite
and start saying these to yourself over and over again (affirmations)– “You become what you think about most of the
time.” – Brian Tracy
4. Act!
The two most common limiting beliefs/fears
• I can’t - The fear of failure• I have to - The fear of rejection• The worst one is a combination of both• I can’t but I have to or I have to but I can’t
Example: public speaking
Love
• You cannot truly love others unless you love yourself
• We should have received perfect love from our parents but didn't. Childrens love = self love
• It starts by recognising that you are part of God, that you are his son or daughter and because of that you have incredible value and you deserve love
• You need to think of and treat yourself accordingly
Make the present a great place to be
• Gratitude about the past and present• Optimism about the future• Do loving actions
Create a new vision for your life
• Based on the principle as a map• Based on your deepest values• Based on what you love to do• Based on leaving a legacy and having an
impact on the world
Sun Myung MoonYour choice of occupation should not be based on just your talentsand interests. Whether you become a fire fighter, a farmer, or a soccerplayer is up to you. But what I am referring to transcends your occupation. What kind of life will you lead as a soccer player? How will you liveas a farmer? What is your objective in life?To set your objective is to give meaning to the life you will lead.If you are going to be a farmer, then you should set your objective totest new agricultural methods, develop better species of crops, and helperadicate world hunger. If you are going to be a soccer player, then seta meaningful objective such as to heighten your country’s image inthe world or to establish soccer camps that will nurture the dreams ofeconomically deprived children. To become a world-class soccer player takes incredible work. If youdo not have a definite purpose in your heart, you will not be able toendure the difficult training required to reach the top. Only if you havean objective will you have the power to maintain your course and live alife that is a cut above those around you.
How to find out what you truly want in life
Set goals in every area of your life!
How to set goals
• Written• Present tense, I am, I have, etc.• Positive• Specific• Measurable• Achievable and realistic• Time bound
Make a plan and act on it
• Make a list of everything you can do to acheive your goal
• Order the list in priority• Stick with the highest priority task until it is
complete and then move on to the next thing– do the worst first!
You need others to help you grow
• Get feedback from family and friends• Get blessed• Have children• Be humble but balanced• We dont always see ourselves clearly so
other people’s feedback is valuable
Change Yourself, Change The World
