Needing Guidance for immigration to Australia

Assalamo Alaikum Presently I am serving in UAE interested to get immigration to Australia Any friend having

information for the procedure and employment opportunities in Australia Please guide me

may also apply for New zeland as w ell Almost same criteria and opportunities As far as Asutralia is concerned

opportunities are more in Perth Melbourn and other w estern region How ever Sydney w hich is supposed to

family then apart from you your w ife w ill also be required to show her IELTs result And for you IELTS

Academic is required and atleast 7 bands in each speaking w riting reading and listening Thanks

Amer The procedure has changed drastically from earlier one The new procedure is called Skill Select in

w hich one has to f ile Expression of Interest(EOI) online and no documents have to be sent how ever you need

to pay the charge for lodging the application (w hich is AUD 3060) - afterw ards you w ill be invited to apply and

you w ill send all the relevant documents to them Before you lodge the EOI you need to have your assessment

done have IELTS - Academic (7 Bands each section) and total points eligibility This year the pass marks have

been reduced to 60 (from last years 65) Your points w ill be locked at the time of EOI so you need to make

sure that you give complete and correct information so as to avoid any issues in future Although the points

have been reduced to 60 preference w ill be given to those having higher points and from the profession highly

in demand We do not know right now how long they w ill take to invite how ever if your profession is there in

the list w hen you submit lsquoEOIrsquo and have positive assessment further you score at least 60 ndash rest assured you

have functional English proficiency Functional English is defined as having 45 in IELTS There is another w ay

of proving functional English You need to submit a document for any coursediploma for 2 years w hich w as

conducted in English language Or else you need to pay AUD 4250 for each of your dependent w ho is older

than 17 years and has no functional English proficiency The payment covers up to three years of English

language instruction through the Adult Migrant English Program Please refer the site for details

so you need ample time to explore it Rest invitatoin hopefully w ill come Perth is the best area to visit now

Qualiication assessment can be done through National institute of Accountants Australia (NIA) CPA Australia or

ICA of Australia paying a seperate fee Its better to take IELTS first and parallel to apply for Qualif ication

asessment once this is done you can go w ith lodging IELTS academic is an issue i think I am not sure its

academic as earlier they w ere considering IELTS regular Zia if you can update on this

Rehan Yes It is specif ically IELTS - Academic and in all sections 7 Band at least It is advisable to appear in

IELTS first then have the assessement done and then apply online as per the new system I think the new

system is more convenient because you do not have to send all the docs right now only lodge the EOI

how ever your points w ill be locked so be sure about total points you can score and apply w hen you are

Now the main task is how to get 7 bands in all four areas of IELTs Yesterday w hen I w as reading new s

paper adds of IELTs tuition providers I w as surprised to see various challenges and guarantees made by them

every one w as claiming that he is the best in providing you the right w ay of getting higher bands One w as

giving money back guarantee and one had crossed all limits he had announced Rs 10 million prize for any

instructor w ho himself had got 8 bands Any how I can understand that getting higher bands in IELTs depends

upon certain tricks w hich need to be explored

IELTS band 7 in each is diff icultI have already got qualif ication assesment in 2009 but could not get 7 in each

band

I recently appeared in IELTS Academic and got the follow ing result Listening 7 Reading 75 Writing 85

Speaking 65 amp Overall 75 Unluckily because of Speaking (65) I am unable to proceed for AU assessment

Last year I got 7 in speaking but that w as IELTS General I am again appearing in couple of months InsharsquoAllah

and w ill try Let us see if I can make it there ) As per my experience you do not need any tuition if you are

good at grammar and structures You only need to practice better and learn how to respond to every section in

the limited time and attempt the paper completely You can use IELTS stuff I uploaded the other day on this

forum in addition there are some good IELTS forums on internet w hich help in learning tips and tricks Regards

I appeared in IELTs (General ) on 30 June and got the follow ing result Listening 55 Reading 50 Writing 70

and speaking 75 and over all 65 I am good at speaking and w riting but not good at reading and listening I

could have got 8 or above band in listening if it w as from a Pakistani or Indian or even Arabic national but I f ind

it diff icult to listen accurately w hen 2 Goras are communicating each other Any how I am exploring some tips to

improve my reading and listening

When you appear in IELTS - Academic you w ill f ind Reading amp Writing more diff icult as compared to IELTS -

General Because Academic one is designed for students so diff iculty level is high how ever there is some

relaxation in marking Listening is same for both and in speaking itrsquos your luck w hat kind of GoraGori taking

your interview ) I found listening easiest in all parts You just need to practice to understand the native accent

At the time of test you have to be attentive of the discussion you listen Diff iculty level w ill increase as the

section proceeds You have some time to read the questions before you listen to the discussion so you can

plan w hat kind of w ordsphrases you have to catch Reading w ill be much diff icult in Academic (as compared

to General) You need to practice to read in lesser time and understand the paragraphs completely Questions

are tricky and diff iculty level increases as the section proceeds In w riting you should be good at grammar and

structure and be familiar of cohesion and coherence principle The more your w riting has variety of relevant

Just to share This post has already been made in another thread Total quota for 20122013 is 190000

migrants Seven out of the top ten countries are from Asia in descending order viz India China Philippines Sri

Actually there is depression in UAE but job can be found through reference In reality if there is vacancy it is

f illed w ith reference The right time is your luck time but it is advised to come betw een December to March and

June to August is off as big bosses leave UAE during this period The right w ay is to use reference and search

GNADS4ucomjobs and apply Another approach is to visit UAE and email CV and attend maximum interview s

The employer pays attention to your CV w hen the CV show s that u are available in UAE
