The TinCaps C.A.R.E. program stands for Community, Activity, Recreation and Education. The TinCaps are committed to being a positive force in our community. The mission of TinCaps C.A.R.E. is to give back to the citizens of Northeast Indiana through outreach, charitable & community programs and events, fundraising, and partnerships with local and regional charitable organizations.

CHARITABLE AND COMMUNITY EVENTSParkview Field hosted more than 100 charitable & communi-ty events in 2018, including “Turn the Town Pink” events, a weekly Farmers Market, free Holiday Fest activities, & Trick or Treating with Johnny!

FUNDRAISINGThe TinCaps Fundraising Program allows organizations to sell TinCaps tickets and retain some of the profits. Through ticket sales and specialty jersey auctions, the TinCaps helped local organizations raise nearly $200,000 in 2018.

PARTNERSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONSThe TinCaps partnered with 65 organizations in 2018 through the “Community Organization of the Game”, a program estab-lished to highlight community efforts during every TinCaps game.

COMMUNITY OUTREACHThe TinCaps’ mascot and players make appearances at local hospitals, schools, little leagues and a wide array of other community events. In 2018, the TinCaps did over 125 player and mascot appearances throughout the region.

CHARITABLE AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMSThis year, 370 schools and libraries (119,476 students and 5,760 educators) participated in the TinCaps Reading Program, an incentive-based system that promotes reading across Indi-ana, Michigan & Ohio.

Among the 5,000+ events hosted thus far at Parkview Field are popular Fort Wayne events (such as the Fort4Fitness, Holiday Fest and Fright Night events, and the Patriotic Pops concert) and new events and traditions including blood drives for the Red Cross and non-profit events and walks. On July 3rd, over 7,000 guests enjoyed a free concert from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. They performed on the field and finished with an amazing fireworks show.

The Fort4Fitness events (including a full and half marathon, kid’s and senior’s marathons and a health festival) drew over 35,000 runners and fans to Parkview Field.
