Outcomes
Exhibitors Fort-Portal Farmers Expo II were able to share ideas, and new
knowledge, exposed to farming best practices and advice, created financial
linkages between farmers and bankers like Uganda development bank and
Finance Trust Bank and developed business partnerships. Through this
collective action, they helped each other consider local realities to create a
space for safe, sustainable food production and distribution systems. Through
science cafes the expo managed to encourage farmers and agricultural
entrepreneurs to utilise the available knowledge and skills and integrate new
expertise to enhance their position.
As such, CECO-Uganda managed to empower individuals, communities and
food industry actors to build their sense of sustainability for a more food
secure and an agriculturally dynamic community.
The 2nd Edition of the Fort-Portal Farmers Expo 2017 was officially opened by the
of Tooro Kingdom, His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV.
