a means by which to make full use of the features offered by your

been designed for, that is for cooking foodstuffs. Any other form

USING THE OVEN FOR THE FIRST TIMEYou are advised to carry out the following operations:

– Assemble the interior of the oven as described under the heading “Cleaning andmaintenance”

– Switch the empty oven ON at maximum temperature for about two hours to elimi-nate traces of grease and smell from the components.

– Let the oven cool down, switch off the electrical supply, then clean the inside of theoven with a cloth soaked in water and neutral detergent and dry thoroughly.

GREASE FILTER (some models only)– A special screen is provided at the back of the oven to catch grease particles, main-ly when meat is being roasted (see page 29).

GENERAL FEATURESAs its name indicates, this is an oventhat presents particular features from anoperational point of view.In fact, it is possible to insert 8 differ-ent programs to satisfy every cookingneed.

The 8 positions, thermostatically con-trolled, are obtained by 4 heating ele-ments which are:

- Lower element 1300 W - Upper element 1000 W - Grill element 2000 W - Circular element 2200 W

NOTE:Upon first use, it is advisable to oper-ate the oven at the maximum tempera-ture (thermostat knob on position 225)for 60 minutes in the position and

to eliminate possible tracesof grease on the heating elements.Repeat the operation for another 15minutes with the grill element on asexplained in the chapters GRILLING andUSE OF THE GRILL.

WARNING:The door is hot, use the handle.

During use the appliance becomes hot.Care should be taken to avoid touch-ing heating elements inside the oven.

Attention: the oven door becomesvery hot during operation.Keep children away.

How to use the oven 2

OPERATING PRINCIPLESHeating and cooking in the 8-FUNC-TION oven are obtained in the followingways:

a. by normal convection The heat is produced by the upperand lower heating elements.

b. by forced convectionA fan sucks in the air contained in theoven, which circulates it through thecircular heating element and thenforced back into the oven by the fan.Before the hot air is sucked backagain by the fan to repeat thedescribed cycle, it envelops the foodin the oven, provoking a completeand rapid cooking. It is possible tocook several dishes simultaneously.

c. by semi-forced convectionThe heat produced by the upper andlower heating elements is distributedthroughout the oven by the fan.

d. by radiation The heat is radiated by the infra redgrill element.

e. by radiation and ventilationThe radiated heat from the infra redgrill element is distributed throughoutthe oven by the fan.

f. by ventilationThe food is defrosted by using thefan only function without heat.

THERMOSTAT KNOB (fig. 2.1)To turn on the heating elements of theoven, set function selector knob to therequired position and the thermostatknob to the desired temperature.To set the temperature, turn the ther-mostat control knob indicator mark tothe required temperature.The elements will turn on or off auto-matically which is determined by thethermostat.The operation of the heating elements issignalled by a light placed on the con-trol panel.

FUNCTION SELECTOR KNOB (fig. 2.2)Rotate the knob clockwise to set theoven to one of the following functions:

OVEN LIGHT

By turning the function selector knob tothis setting, the oven light will illuminatein the oven cavity .The oven light will operate on all select-ed functions.

TRADITIONAL CONVECTION COOKING

The upper and lower heating elementsare switched on. The heat is diffused by natural convec-tion and the temperature must be reg-ulated between 50°C and MAX positionwith the thermostat knob.It is necessary to preheat the ovenbefore introducing the foods to becooked.

Recommended for:For foods which require the same cook-ing temperature both internally andexternally, i. e. roasts, spare ribs,meringue, etc.

GRILLING

The infra-red heating element and therotisserie motor are switched on. The heatis diffused by radiation.Use with the oven door closed andthe thermostat knob must be regulatedbetween 50°C and 200°C max.For correct use see chapter “USE OF THEGRILL” and “USE OF THE ROTISSERIE”Always grill with the oven doorclosed.

Recommended for:Intense grilling action for cooking with therotisserie; browning, crisping, “au gratin”,toasting, etc.

VENTILATED GRILL COOKING

The infra-red grill and the fan are on. The heat is mainly diffused by radiationand the fan then distributes it through-out the oven. The temperature must be regulatedbetween 50°C and 200°C max with thethermostat knob.It is necessary to preheat the oven forabout 5 minutes.For correct use see chapter “GRILLINGAND AU GRATIN.Always grill with the oven doorclosed.

Recommended for:For grill cooking when a fast outsidebrowning is necessary to keep the juicesin, i. e. veal steak, steak, hamburger, etc.

LOWER HEATING ELEMENT

In this position only the lower element isswitched on. Heat is distributed by natural convec-tion. The temperature can be setbetween 50 and MAX position.

Recommended for:To complete cooking of dishes thatrequire higher temperature at the bottom.

UPPER HEATING ELEMENT

In this position only the upper element isswitched on. Heat is distributed by natural convec-tion. The temperature can be setbetween 50 and MAX position.

Recommended for:To complete cooking of dishes thatrequire higher temperature at the top.

CONVECTION COOKING WITH VENTILATION

The upper and lower heating elementsand the fan turn on. The heat coming from the top and bot-tom is diffused by forced convection. The temperature must be regulatedbetween 50°C and MAX position withthe thermostat knob.

Recommended for:For foods of large volume and quantitywhich require the same internal andexternal degree of cooking; for ex: rolledroasts, turkey, legs, cakes, etc.

DEFROSTING FROZEN FOODS

Only the oven fan is on. To be used with the thermostat knob inthe off “�” position because the otherpositions have no effect.The defrosting is done by simple venti-lation without heat.

Recommended for:To rapidly defrost frozen foods; 1 kilo-gram requires about one hour. The defrosting times vary according tothe quantity and type of foods to bedefrosted.

HOT AIR COOKING

The circular element and the fan are on. The heat is diffused by forced convec-tion and the temperature must be reg-ulated between 50°C and MAX positionwith the thermostat knob. It is not necessary to preheat the oven.

Recommended for:For foods that must be well done on theoutside and tender or rare on the inside,i. e. lasagna, lamb, roast beef, wholefish, etc.

The external parts of the ovenbecome hot during operation.Keepchildren well out of reach.

COOKING ADVICE

STERILIZATIONSterilization of foods to be conserved, infull and hermetically sealed jars, is donein the following way:

a. Set the switch to position . b. Set the thermostat knob to position185 °C and preheat the oven.

c. Fill the grill pan with hot water. d. Set the jars into the grill pan makingsure they do not touch each otherand the door and set the thermostatknob to position 135 °C.

When sterilization has begun, that is,when the contents of the jars start tobubble, turn off the oven and let cool.

REGENERATIONSet the switch to position and thethermostat knob to position 150° C. Bread becomes fragrant again if wetwith a few drops of water and put intothe oven for about 10 minutes.

ROASTINGTo obtain classical roasting, it is neces-sary to remember:– that it is advisable to maintain a tem-perature between 180 and 200 °C.

– that the cooking time depends on thequantity and the type of foods.

COOKING DIFFERENT DISHES ATTHE SAME TIMEWith the function selector in position , the ventilated oven allows you to cookdifferent types of food at the same time. Fish, cakes and meat can be cookedtogether without the smells and flavoursmixing. The only precautions required are thefollowing:– The cooking temperatures must be asclose as possible with a maximum dif-ference of 20° - 25°C between the dif-ferent foods.

– Different dishes must be placed in theoven at different times according tothe cooking time required for eachone. This type of cooking obviouslyprovides a considerable saving ontime and energy.

GRILLING AND “AU GRATIN” Grilling may be done by selectinggrill+fan setting with the functionselector knob, because the hot air com-pletely envelops the food that is to becooked.Set the thermostat knob between 50°Cand 200°C max and after having pre-heated the oven, simply place the foodon the grid. Close the door and let the oven oper-ate until grilling is done. Adding a few dabs of butter before theend of the cooking time gives the gold-en “au gratin” effect.

Grilling with the oven door closed.It is recommended that you do notgrill for longer than 30 minutes at anyone time.Attention: the oven door becomesvery hot during operation.Keep children away.

USE OF THE GRILLSet the switch to position and thethermostat knob between 50°C and200°C max.

Leave to warm up for approximately 5minutes with the door closed.Introduce the food to be cooked, posi-tioning the rack as close to the grill aspossible.The dripping pan should be placedunder the rack to catch the cookingjuices and fats.Grilling with the oven door closed.

Grilling with the oven door closed anddo not for longer than 30 minutes atany one time.

Attention: the oven door becomesvery hot during operation.Keep children away.

ROTISSERIE The oven is equipped with a rotisseriefor cooking on the spit using the grill.

This device is made up of:

– an electrical motor mounted on therear part of the oven

– a stainless steel rod, equipped with adetachable athermic grip and 2recordable forks

– a rod support to be inserted into thecentral guides of the oven cavity.

USE OF THE ROTISSERIE (Fig. 2.3)– Insert the dripping pan into the low-est rack holders of the oven and insertthe rod support into the intermediaterack holders.

– Put the meat to be cooked onto therod, being careful to secure it in thecenter with the special forks.

– Insert the rod into the motor openingby moving to the right the baffle B (fig.2.3). It is correctly fitted only if the roddoes not turn when inserted. It willthen rotate only when the spit motoris operating (check the right rotationof the rod).

– Rest the rod onto the support of thespit collar; then remove the grip byturning it to the left.

– Set the function selector knob to posi-tion and the thermostat knobbetween 50°C and 200°C max.

Always grill with the oven doorclosed.

Grilling with the oven door closed andnot for longer than 30 minutes at anyone time.

Attention: the oven door becomesvery hot during operation.Keep children away.

The rotation direction of the rotisseriecan be either clockwise or counter-clockwise.

The electronic programmer is a devicewhich groups together the followingfunctions:– 24 hours clock with illuminated dis-play

– Timer (up to 23 hours and 59 minutes) – Program for automatic oven cooking– Program for semi-automatic ovencooking.

AUTO - flashing - Programmer in auto-matic position but not pro-grammed

ELECTRONIC CLOCK (fig. 3.2)The programmer is equipped with anelectronic clock with illuminated num-bers which indicates hours and min-utes. Upon immediate connection of the ovenor after a power cut, three zeros willflash on the programmer display. To set the correct time of day it is nec-essary to push the button and thenthe ( ) or ( ) button until youhave set the correct time (fig. 3.2).In another way push simul tane ously the

two buttons and at the sametime push the ( ) or ( ) but-ton.

Note: If the clock is reset it deletes anypreviously set programs.

ELECTRONIC TIMERThe timer program consists only of abuzzer which may be set for a maximumperiod of 23 hours and 59 minutes. If the AUTO symbol is flashing push the

button.To set the time, push the button andthe ( ) or ( )until you obtain the desired time in thepanel (fig. 3.4). Having finished the setting, the clockhour will appear on the panel and the

symbol will be illuminated. The countdown will start immediatelyand may be seen at any moment on thepanel by simply pressing the button

At the end of the time, the symbolwill disappear and the buzzer will soundand continue for approximatley 7 min-utes or until a button is pressed (not the

( ) / ( ) buttons). After a shorttime the display will revert back to thetime of day.

SETTING THE FREQUENCY OF THEAUDIBLE SIGNALThe buzzer has 3 different tones and canbe changed by pressing the ( ) but-ton, but only when the time of day isdisplayed.

NORMAL COOKING WITHOUT THEUSE OF THE PROGRAMMERTo manually use the oven, without theaid of the programmer, it is necessary tocancel the flashing AUTO by pushingthe button (AUTO will be switchedoff and the symbol will illuminate -Fig. 3.3).

Attention: If the AUTO is illuminated(which means a cooking program hasalready been inserted), by pushing thebutton you cancel the program andreturn to manual operation.If the oven is switch on, you mustswitch off manually.

AUTOMATIC OVEN COOKINGTo cook food automatically in the oven,it is necessary to:1. Set the length of the cooking period 2. Set the end of the cooking time 3. Set the temperature and the ovencooking program.

These operations are done in the fol-lowing way: 1. Set the length of the cooking periodby pushing the button and the

( ) button to increase, or () to decrease if you have passed thedesired time (fig. 3.5). The AUTO andthe symbol will illuminate.

2. Set the end of the cooking time bypressing the button (the cookingtime already added to the clock timewill appear), and the ( ) button(fig. 2.6); if you pass the desired timeyou may get back by pushing the( ) button. After this setting, the symbol willdisappear. If after this setting, theAUTO flashes on the display and abuzzer sounds, it means there wasan error in the programming, that isthat the cooking cycle has beensuperimposed on the clock. In thiscase, modify the end of cooking timeor the cooking period itself by fol-lowing again the above mentionedinstructions.

3. Set the temperature and the cookingprogram by using the switch and ther-mostat knobs of the oven (see spe-cific chapters).

Now the oven is programmed andevery thing will work automatically, thatis the oven will turn on at the rightmoment to end the cooking at theestablished hour. During cooking, the symbol remainsilluminated. By pushing the button you can seethe time that remains until the end ofcooking.

The cooking program may be can-celled at any time by pushing .

At the end of the cooking time the ovenwill turn off automatically, the sym-bol will turn off, AUTO will flash and abuz zer will be sound, which can beturned off by pushing any of the but - tons except the ( ) / ( ) but-tons.

Turn the switch and thermostat knobsto zero and put the programmer onto“manual” by pressing the button.

Attention: After a power cut the clockresets to zero and cancels the set pro-grams. After a power cut, three zeros will flashon the display.

SEMI - AUTOMATIC COOKINGThis is used to automatically switch offthe oven after the desired cooking peri-od has elapsed.

Set the length of the cooking period bypushing the button and the ( )button to increase, or ( ) todecrease if you have passed the desiredtime (Fig. 3.7).

AUTO and the symbol will be illumi-nated.Then set the temperature and the cook-ing program using the function selectorswitch and thermostat knobs (see spe-cific chapters). The oven is switched on and it will beswitched of automatically at the end ofthe desired time. During cooking, the symbol remainsilluminated and by pressing the button

you can see the remaining cookingtime.The cooking program can be can-celled at any time by pushing thebutton.

At the end of the cooking period, theoven and the symbol will disappear,AUTO will flash and a buzzer will soundand can be stopped by pushing any ofthe buttons except the ( ) / () buttons.Turn the function selector switch andthermostat knobs to zero and put theprogrammer onto “manual” by pressingthe button.

The oven can be switched on when thesymbol is shown in the display.

ELECTRONIC ALARMThe programmer can be used as analarm only for a maximum period of 99minutes. To set the alarm, push the orbutton until you obtain the desired timein the display. Once the time haselasped, an intermittent buzzer, lasting 7minutes, will start; this can be stoppedby pressing the button.Attention: If the bottom oven isswitched on when the buzzer starts, itwill be automatically switched off. For itto operate furtherly you have to stop thebuzzer by pressing the button.

SETTING THE FREQUENCY OF THEALARM SOUNDThe selection from 3 possibilities ofsound can be made by pressing the button.

COOKING WITH AUTOMATICSWITCH-OFFThe aim of this function is toautomatically stop the cooking after apre programmed time, for a maximumperiod of 99 minutes.To set the cooking time, push the or

button until you obtain the desiredtime in the display. The symbol AUTOwill be shown in the display. Then youadjust the oven thermostat knobaccording to the required temperature.The oven wil l immediately start tooperate and wil l work for the preprogrammed time. The display showsthe count down. Clock time can bedisplayed by pressing the button.Once the time has elasped, the oven willswitch off automatically, the symbolAUTO will go off and an intermittentbuzzer, lasting 7 minutes, will start; thiscan be stopped by pressing the button. Important: Before the buzzer is stoppedswitch off the oven manually.

To cancel the cooking program at anytime press the and buttonstogether and release the button first.

ELECTRONIC CLOCK (fig. 5.1)The electronic alarm is a device whichgroups the functions of 24 hours clockwith illuminated display and 99 minutesalarm.

Upon immediate connection of the ovenor after a blackout, three zeros will flashon the programmer panel. To set the hour it is necessary to pushthe button and then, within 7 sec-onds, the or button until you haveset the exact hour.An energy black-out makes the clockgo to zero.

ELECTRONIC ALARMThe alarm program consists only of abuzzer which may be set for a maximumperiod of 99 minutes. To set the time, push the or untilyou obtain the desired time in the panel.Having finished the setting, the sym-bol will be lighted and the countdownwill start immediately. At the end of thetime, the symbol will be switched offand an intermittent buzzer, during 7 min-utes, will go off; this can be stopped bypressing the buttons.

To stop the alarm countdown in anymoment press the and buttonstogether and release the button first.

SETTING THE FREQUENCY OF THE ALARMSOUND

“TOUCH-CONTROL” KEYSThe “touch-control” keys shall be operated by the fingers (just by touching the key).When using touch controls it is best to use the ball of your finger rather than the tip.

The keys are automatically deactivated:• 8 seconds after the last selection; the deactivation is indicated by an acoustic sig-nal (“beep”).

To reactivate just touch the “MODE” key or the “+” and “–” keys (simultaneously) formore than 2 seconds.

SETTING THE CLOCKWhen first connected, or after a power failure, the digits and “AUTO” will shown onthe display. To set the clock, touch the “MODE“ key, for more than 2 seconds, andthen the “+” or “–” keys.Important: the oven does not operate, in manual cooking, without first having setthe clock.

To set the clock, with the appliance already connected, touch the “+” and “–” keyssimultaneously (for more than 2 seconds), then “+” or “–” keys.Important:• changing the time will delete any automatic program;• after setting the clock, the oven starts to operate in the selected function(manual cooking). The “ ” symbol is steady illuminated.

USING THE TIMERYou can use the timer at any time, even when the oven is not in use.The timer does not turn the oven off.The timer can be set for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes.

• To set the timer, touch the “MODE” key for more than 2 seconds (the “ ” symbolflashes), than the “+” or “–” keys.

• After about 8 seconds an acoustic signal (“beep”) will sound confirming the regula-tion (“ ” symbol steady illuminated).

• To check the remaining time touch the “MODE“ key for more than 2 seconds. If theremaining time is more than a minute the display will show hours and minutes; ifless than a minute the display will show seconds.

• When the time is up, the timer will beep. Touch the “MODE” key , for more then 2seconds, to turn it off; or press the “+” or “–” key to stop the beep and than the“MODE” key, for more than 2 seconds, to deactivate the “ ” symbol flashing onthe display.

• Turn off the oven manually (function and thermostat knobs in the off position) if themanual cooking has been completed.

SETTING THE TIMER VOLUMEYou can select from three volume levels.• Touch the “+” and “–” keys simultaneously for more than 2 seconds.• Touch the “MODE” key; you can read on the display the current timer volume (“ton1”,“ton2” or “ton3”).

• Touch the “–” key to listen or change the timer volume.• Timer volume activated: the last displayed.• After about 8 seconds an acoustic signal (“beep”) will sound confirming the volumesetting; then the time of day will be displayed.

AUTOMATIC COOKINGUse automatic cooking to automatically turn the oven on, cook, and then turn the ovenoff.1. Check the clock shows the correct time.2. Select the function and temperature (function and temperature knobs). The oven willcome on.

3. Decide how long the food will take to cook, allowing time for preheating if necessary.4. Touch the “MODE” key for more than 2 seconds and then touch again. “dur” willshow (duration). Using the “+” and “–” keys, set the cooking time.

5. Decide the time you would like the oven to turn off; touch the “MODE” key for morethan 2 seconds and then touch it two times again. “End” will show. Using the “+”and “–” keys, set the cooking time.Note: while “dur” is displayed you can change to “End” just by touching one timethe “MODE” key (within 8 seconds from the last selection).

If there is time to wait before cooking starts, the current time of day and “AUTO” willshow in the clock display. The oven will switch off but is now set for automatic cook-ing. If you are already at home to turn the oven on and only want the oven to turn offautomatically, start cooking as normal, then follow step 4 or step 5 to set a time tostop the oven.When automatic cooking starts, “ ” will be displayed and the oven will turn on.• To see the remaining cook time, follow step 4 up to display “dur” (duration).• To see the set stop time, follow step 5 up to display “End”.• To cancel automatic cooking at any time, touch the “+” and “–” keys simultaneously(for more than 2 seconds) and turn the temperature and function knobs to the offposition.

When the stop time is reached, the oven will turn off, the timer will beep and “AUTO”will flash:• Touch any key to stop the beeping.• Touch the “MODE” key, for more than 2 seconds, to return the oven to the manu-al mode (“ ” symbol steady illuminated on the display).

• Turn the temperature and function knobs to the off position.

Attention: after a power failure any automatic program is deleted. Turn off theoven manually.

COOKING WITH AUTOMATIC SWITCH-OFF– Turn on the oven by setting the switchknob on the desired program and thethermostat knob onto the desiredtemperature (see specific chapters).

– Set the cooking time by rotating knob“A” anticlockwise until desired time inwindow “B” coincides with the indi-cator (Fig. 7.2).

The oven will immediately start to oper-ate and will work for the pre pro-grammed time. Once the time haselasped, the oven will switch off auto-matically and an intermittent buzzer willstart; this can be stopped by rotatingknob “A” until the symbol in win-dow “B” coincides with the indicator(Fig. 7.3).Turn the switch and thermostat knobsto “off” position.

The clock programmer is a device whichgroups together the following functions:

– Electric clock– Timing of oven cooking with auto-matic switch-off (max. 180 minutes).

– End cooking buzzer

SETTING THE TIMETo adjust, simply press the knob “A”(fig. 7.1) and rotate anticlockwise to thecorrect time.

MINUTE COUNTER The minute counter function consistssimply of an acoustic signal whichcomes on once the set time haselapsed. To set the minute counter, rotate thesmall knob (A) clockwise or anticlock-wise (without pressing it) until the hand(C) coincides with the required time(max 55 minutes) (Fig. 8.1). Countdown will begin immediately andthe hand (C) will begin to turn anti-clockwise, always showing the remain-ing time. Once the set time has elapsed the bellwill ring until the hand (C) is positionedto the symbol by rotating the knob(A) anticlockwise.

The minute counter is a timed acousticwarning device which can be set for amaximum of 60 minutes. The knob must be rotated clockwise asfar as the 60 minute position and thenset to the required time by rotating itanticlockwise.

TIMER - 120’ CUT-OFF (Fig. 9.1)The function of the timer runs the ovenfor a preset time.

1) Starting up.After setting the function selector andthermostat to the required mode andtemperature, rotate the timer knobclockwise until you reach the requiredcooking time (max 120 minutes). Once this time has elapsed, the timerwill return to the “0” position and theoven will automatically switch off.

2) Manual position.If the cooking time is longer than twohours or if you wish to use the ovenmanually, switching it off as required,the knob must be turned to position

Cleaning and maintenance 10

Do not use a steam cleanerbecause the moisture can get intothe appliance thus make it unsafe.

Do not store flammable material inthe oven.

GENERAL ADVICEImportant:Before any operation of cleaning and maintenance disconnect the appliance fromthe electrical supply.

It is advisable to clean when the appliance is cold and especially for cleaning the enam-elled parts. Avoid leaving alkaline or acidic substances (lemon juice, vinegar, etc.) on the surfaces. Avoid using cleaning products with a chlorine or acidic base.

INSIDE OF OVENThe oven should always be cleaned after use when it has cooled down.The cavity should be cleaned using a mild detergent solution and warm water.Suitable proprietary chemical cleaners may be used after first consulting with the man-ufacturers recommendations and testing a small sample of the oven cavity.Abrasive cleaning agents or scouring pads/cloths should not be used on the cavitysurface.

NOTE: The manufacturers of this appliance will accept no responsibility for damagecaused by chemical or abrasive cleaning.

Let the oven cool down and pay special attention no to touch the hot heatingelements inside the oven cavity.

WARNING When correctly installed, your product meets all safety requirements laid down forthis type of product category. However special care should be taken around therear or the underneath of the appliance as these areas are not designed or intend-ed to be touched and may contain sharp or rough edges, that may cause injury.

ENAMELLED PARTSAll the enamelled parts must be cleaned with a sponge and soapy water only or othernon-abrasive products. Dry preferably with a microfibre or soft cloth.

STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES (MODELS WITHOUT ANTI-FINGERPRINT TREATMENT),ALUMINIUM PARTS AND PAINTED OR SILK-SCREEN PRINTED SURFACESClean using an appropriate product. Always dry thoroughly.

IMPORTANT: these parts must be cleaned very carefully to avoid scratching and abra-sion. You are advised to use a soft cloth and neutral soap.

STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES WITH ANTI-FINGERPRINT TREATMENT(SOME MODELS ONLY)CAUTION: The stainless steel front surfaces used in some ovens are protected with aSpecial Lacquer to reduce finger-print marks.To avoid damaging this lacquer, do not clean the stainless steel with abrasive cleaners or abra-sive cloths or scouring pads. ONLY SOAP/WARM WATER MUST BE USED TO CLEAN THE STAINLESS STEELSURFACES.

Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the ovendoor glass since they can scratch the surface, which may result in shatteringof the glass.

SLIDING SHELVES(some models only)– The sliding shelves facilitate the inser-tion and removal of shelves duringcooking. These shelves support allaccessory trays and are dishwashersafe.

– The shelves stop when pulled out tothe maximum position.

– The sliding shelves can be removedeasily by unscrewing the fixing screwsand detaching them from the ovenwalls.

– Removing the sliding shelvesimproves access to the oven ceilingfor cleaning (after the grill heating ele-ment has been lowered - fig. 10.5).

ADVICE FOR USE AND MAINTE-NANCE OF CATALYTIC PANELS(some models only)The catalytic panels are covered withspecial microporous enamel whichabsorbs and does away with oil and fatsplashes during normal baking over200°C. If, after cooking very fatty foods, thepanels remain dirty, operate the oven“idling” on max temperature for about 30minutes. These panels do not require to becleaned, however it is advised to peri-odically remove them from the oven (atleast the side panels) and to wash themwith tepid soapy water and then wipeoff with a soft cloth. DO NOT CLEAN OR WASH THEMWITH ABRASIVE PRODUCTS ORWITH PRODUCTS CONTAININGACIDS OR ALKALIS.

The side panels are reversible and whenthe catalytic microporous enameldegrades, they can be turned to theother side.

REPLACING THE OVEN LIGHTBefore any maintenance is startedinvolving electrical parts of the appli-ance, it must be disconnected from thepower supply.

– Let the oven cavity and the heatingelements cool down

– Switch off the electrical supply

– Unscrew the protective cover (fig.10.9)

– Refit the protective cover.

NOTE: Oven bulb replacement is notcovered by your guarantee.

GREASE FILTER (some models only)– Slide in the grease filter on the backof the oven as in Fig. 10.8.

– Clean the filter after any cooking!The grease filter can be removed forcleaning and should be washed regu-larly in hot soapy water (fig. 10.8).

– Always dry the filter properly beforefitting it back into the oven.

REMOVING THE OVEN DOORThe oven door can easily be removed asfollows:

– Open the door to the full extent (fig.10.10a).

– Open the lever “A” completely on theleft and right hinges (fig. 10.10b).

– Hold the door as shown in fig. 10.10.

– Gently close the door (fig. 10.10) untilleft and right hinge levers “A” arehooked to part “B” of the door (fig.10.10b)

– Withdraw the hinge hooks from theirlocation following arrow “C” (f ig.10.10d).

– Rest the door on a soft surface.

– To replace the door, repeat the abovesteps in reverse order.

The lower trim is designed to allow for good air circulation and the correct opening ofthe oven door.

To ensure the trim is not damaged due to the appliance being placed on the floor, theappliance should be suitably supported as in above illustrations.

After installation the appliance door should be slowly opened to ensure no damage hasoccurred.

No responsibility for lower trim damage will be accepted if these instructions havenot been followed.

GENERAL

– The connection to the electrical networkmust be carried out by qualified per-sonnel and must be according to exist-ing norms.

– The appliance must be connected to theelectrical network verifying above allthat the voltage corresponds to thevalue indicated on the specificationsplate and that the cables section of theelectrical plant can bear the load whichis also indicated on the plate.

– If the appliance is supplied without apower supply plug and if you are notconnecting directly to the mains, a stan-dardized plug suitable for the load mustbe fitted.

– The colours of the wires in the appli-ance power cable may not corre-spond with the colours marked on theterminals of your electrical plug. Theplug should always be wired as fol-lows:� connect the green/yellow wire tothe terminal marked with the letterE or the earth symbol or colouredgreen/yellow;

� connect the blue wire to the termi-nal marked with the letter N orcoloured black;

� connect the brown wire to the ter-minal marked with the letter L orcoloured red. The connection of the appliance to

the grounding unit is mandatory. The manufacturer declines everyresponsability for any inconve-nience resulting from the inobser-vance of this condition.

Electrical section 12

Before effecting any interventionon the electrical parts the appli-ance must be disconnected fromthe network.

– The bi-polar plug must be connected toan outlet connected to the groundingunit in conformity to security norms.

– If the oven is to be connected directlyto the mains, it must be placed with anomnipolar switch with minimum open-ing between the contacts of 3 mmbetween the appliance and the mains.

– The power supply cable must not touchthe hot parts and must be positioned sothat it does not exceed 75°C at anypoint.

– Once the oven has been installed, theswitch or socket must always be acces-sible.

– If the power supply cable is damaged itmust be substituted by a suitable cableavailable in the after sales service.

N.B. For connection to the mains, donot use adapters, reducers or branch-ing devices as they can cause over-heating and burning.

If the installation requires alterations tothe domestic electrical system call anexpert. He should also check that the socketcable section is suitable for the powerabsorbed by the appliance.

CONNECTION OF THE POWER SUP-PLY CABLEUnhook the terminal board cover byinserting a screwdriver into the twohooks “A” (fig. 12.1).

Open the cable gland by unscrewingscrew “F” (fig. 12.2), unscrew the ter-minal screws and remove the cable.

The new supply cable, of suitable typeand section, is connected to the termi-nal board following the diagram fig.12.3.
