Significance of The Legacy Project
Built in the mid-1960s, this approximately 216,000 square foot, six-building office and warehouse campus, located at NC Highway 64 at North Church Street in Rocky Mount, took shape as the home of the locally born and bred Hardee’s Restaurant Company. Hardee’s showcased the entrepreneurial spirit of the community, and formed the fabric that makes Rocky Mount what it is today. Having likewise grown Centura from a local to international bank, the iconic campus has been dubbed The Legacy Project for the role it will continue to play in the future of Rocky Mount.
