1.1.What are the likely impacts of the proposed activity on the existing facilities adjacent to the

proposed site? (Such as open spaces, community facilities, details of the existing land use and

disturbance to the local ecology).

Although it is a construction activity, its impact on air quality, water quality, noise and soil will not be

notable. As a matter of fact this activity will have positive impact, on socio-economic culture of people

residing in the vicinity of the proposed area. There will not be any disturbance to the local ecology as

the selected site for the construction is a barren land.

The project site and the surrounding area are not developed. The plantations, which would be grown in

the residential area, will be helpful in increasing green cover of the area. This would also increase

avifauna in the area.

1.4 Will there be any significant land disturbance resulting in erosion, subsidence & instability?

(Details of soil type, slope analysis, vulnerability to subsidence, seismicity, etc may be given

Generally, soil types found in Pune district are black, copper, red, & paddy soil. Soil blends

Of variable properties are modified by sand, gravel, lime salts, & other ingredients.

1.6 What are the quantities of earthwork involved in the construction activity cutting, filling,

reclamation etc. (Give details of the quantities of earthwork involved, transport of fill materials

from outside the site etc.)?

Excavated material during construction will be used for leveling of land at site.

1.7 Give details regarding water supply, waste handling etc during the construction Period.

Total water requirement during construction phase will be approximately 30 m3/day for domestic use

for the workers working/dwelling on the site. The construction water requirement will be in addition to

this. The source will be Bore well. The non biodegradable solid waste will be segregated and will send

to kabadi. The wet waste will be treated by ‘Organic Waste Convertor”.

A septic tank and soak pit will be constructed for temporary shelters of construction workers. The

construction debris and cut and fill waste will be recycled for road construction.

1.8

Will the low-lying areas & wetlands get altered? (Provide details of how low lying and wetlands

are getting modified from the proposed activity). Not Applicable.

1.9 Whether construction debris & waste during construction cause health hazard? (Give quantities

of various types of wastes generated during construction including the construction labor and the

means of disposal)

Construction debris and waste during construction will not cause health hazard. The natural depression

on site will be lined and converted into water bodies which would add to passive cooling and will act as

Rainwater Harvesting devices.

Construction debris generated will be used for development of landscape.

2. WATER ENVIRONMENT

2.1 Give the total quantity of water requirement for the proposed project with the breakup of

requirements for various uses. How will the water requirement be met? State the sources &

quantities and furnish a water balance statement.

The proposed source of water will be PCMC. The underground tank is provided for the filtered water

storage tank. Water may be pumped from proposed underground tank to overhead tanks on all building

through a hydro pneumatic tank filling system. It will be then distributed to overhead tank on terrace

building.

A comprehensive Rainwater Harvesting System will be implemented in the form of aquifer recharge.

The water table in the area is likely to increase due to the proposed system with no adverse effects

envisage.

2.10 What precautions/measures are taken to prevent the run-off from construction activities

polluting land & aquifers? (Give details of quantities and the measures taken to avoid the adverse

impacts)

The runoff from the site will be filtered mechanically and present rate of discharge will be retained

without any incremental pollution load from the site.

2.11 How is the storm water from within the site managed?(State the provisions made to avoid

flooding of the area, details of the drainage facilities provided along with a site layout indication

The storm water from the site will be harvested in the form of recharging the aquifers. Recharge pits will be created on site.

2.12 Will the deployment of construction laborers particularly in the peak period lead to unsanitary

conditions around the project site (Justify with proper explanation)

During construction phase numbers of workers will be 40.Municipal solid waste generated during

construction will be composted at site. Temporary Toilets, Septic tank and soak pits are provided during

construction phase. This will not lead unsanitary conditions at the site.

2.13 What on-site facilities are provided for the collection, treatment & safe disposal of sewage? (Give

details of the quantities of wastewater generation, treatment capacities with technology &

facilities for recycling and disposal)

The sewage will be collected from 266 Nos. tenements. The quantity of sewage is about 88.56 % of

domestic water consumption. The waste water generated from the proposed activity shall be domestics. Sewage will be treated in the sewage treatment plant of 180 m3/day. The treated sewage will be

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

The Sewage Treatment System being proposed by us is SMBR Based technology. Suspended Media

Bio Reactor (SMBR)(MMBR) is emerging as a clear choice for STP’s all across the sector for various

reasons like:

Less Area Requirement.

No Sludge Recycle, monitoring of F/M ratio etc. hence easy to operate Minimal moving parts thus

lesser maintenance requirements.Flexibility to correct the performance by just adding the media in a

reactor or increasing the Air quantity. No more costly replacements. The STP being proposed by us has

following steps incorporated as a part of our system

Bar Screen: The System is provided with a Bar Screen to remove the objects like plastics, pouches,

metal pieces etc.

Equalization: Equalization of effluents is essential to make a uniform mixture for further treatment. To

achieve this air is bubbled in the first chamber through air grid. In smaller systems this is achieved by

taking help of turbulence of the incoming stream.

SMBR (Suspended Media Bio Reactor) (MMBR) : This is a very important part of treatment process

where Oxygen from the air is transferred to the liquid with the help of Air Grid.

A specially designed plastic media are filled in the tank (to the required level). During the treatment

this media facilitates attached growth. This also ensures that the required MLSS (Mixed Liquor

Suspended Solids) are maintained at the required level (3500 – 5000 p.m.). The residence time of the

reactor tank is considered in such a way that there is enough time for treatment in the reactor. A blower

is provided to supply air to the Grid.

Settling Chamber: After Solid Liquid separation in SMBR reactor, the liquid is taken in the Settling

Chamber. The Settling Chamber is provided with Tube Packs in the top section of the tank. The

Bottom portion is with sufficient Slope to ensure the accumulation of suspended solids. There are no

moving parts in this section.

Sludge Handling: A Sludge pump is provided to periodically remove the Solids accumulated at the

bottom of Settler Chamber. The Sludge is pumped to a Sludge Holding tank which is provided to hold
