Biodiversity
Biodiversity is immensely rich in wildlife and cultivated spices, diverse in form and function but closely integranted in a system through multiple network of interdependcies.

Flora and Fauna in India India is one of the world richest country in the
term of it’s vast array of biological diversity, and has 8%of the total no. of species in the world .
Over 81000 spices of flora and 47000 spices of fauna are found in india .
At least 10% of india’s recorded with wild fauna 20% of it’s mammals are on the threatened.

The India Wildlife (Protection) Act was implemented in1972 , with various provisons for protecting habitats.
The thrust of the programme was towards protecting the remaining population of certain endangered spices by banning , hunting, giving legal protectation to their habitats, and restricting tread in wildlife.

The central government also announced several project for protecting specific animals, which were gravely threatened, including the tiger, the one- horned rhinoceros, the kashmir stag or hangul, three types of crocodile, saltwater crocodile and the gharial, the asiatic lion, and other.
