What is foreshadowing?
Foreshadowing
Foreshadowing: When an author mentions or hints at something that will happen later in the text.
An author uses foreshadowing to build suspense or develop the plot.

Flashback
Flashback: When an author refers back to something that already took place in the story.

FLASH = a quick glance at something
BACK = a look back at something that already happened.
