Riding lessons at Columbia Horse Center could be the perfect, unexpected gift

for anyone of any age – experienced or not. What fi ve to seven-year-old wouldn’t love game – oriented Pony Pal lessons? But involvement with tinier animals is gratifying, too. Anyone with a yard or deck will love the Squirrel Buster Plus at Mother Nature’s. It’s a squirrel-proof (really!!) feeder that is

weight-activated. The tiny weight of a bird will open the feeding portal, but the heftier

poundage of a squirrel snaps it shut! Ha! Guaranteed, says owner Dave Horvath.

Jeff Franklin of Franklin’s Toys loves the “awesome and unique

Pajaggle, a cool cross between a game and a puzzle. Real toys engage your brain differently than iPhone games!” he says.

Forefrontive a bit of yourself this holiday season; share some fun with family and friends.

Mike Moore, the owner of Wild Bird Center of Severna Park suggests giving from the eco-chic Bamboo

Jewelry line he carries. Glass is fi red onto recycled sterling silver to create colorful cloisonné earrings, necklaces and bracelets packaged in bamboo gift boxes lined with anti-tarnish fabric. And

over at Greetings & Readings, fi nd Alex and Ani eco-friendly, positive-energy bracelets that adorn the body, enlighten the mind and empower the spirit.

The greatest gift at Princeton Sports? That’s easy, says owner Alan Davis:

The North Face Denali Jacket. He has it for men, women and kids in all sizes and colors. “It’s warm, it’s comfortable, it’s the very best jacket to have.” Meanwhile, Ski Haus Sports’ gorgeous, furry Tecnica Skandia boots will keep her feet toasty around town, not just at the ski lodge. Staying inside? Cohen’s Clothiers has a must-have for football fans of all ages: extremely high-end licensed Ravens merchandise. Owner Gilbert Cohen carries button-down dress shirts in solids, stripes and checks, vests, golf shirts, boxers, board shorts and even women’s wear from luxury makers.

Is there anyone on your gift list who wouldn’t want a gift card from Massage Envy? A healthy skin facial reduces fi ne lines and wrinkles and reduces stress; the

cranial-sacral massage eases back pain and headaches; while a sports massage can actually decrease the risk of injury. - Massage Envy, see MassageEnvy.com for several convenient locations

There are some great new rye whiskies over at Wells Liquors like the Whistlepig small-batch rye out of Vermont. Another

great gift is the Corkcicle, an icicle with a wine cork in the end. Freeze the Corkcicle, put it in your bottle of white wine, and keep it chilled anywhere! Quarry Wines likes Open Door Cellars’ bag in a box — wine that stays fresh for four to six weeks after opening. “No waste, great taste and perfect for sharing”, says owner Mike Fishman. - Wells Discount Liquors, Baltimore Quarry Wines, Quarry Lake

Sue Gauthier says her best-selling gift item at The

Cottage is the line of versatile serving pieces by Nora Fleming. One platter can take you through all occasions with a simple swap of a decorative ornament, allowing you to change your table decor to suit a child’s birthday, a Halloween party or Christmas dinner.
