Colleagues - 2FM has been working with CPD to find interim training facility solutions beyond the CityCollege classroom space identified late last year. In addition to addressing CPD's immediate spaceneeds the interim solutions will serve as a bridge between now and when the joint Public SafetyTraining Academy campus becomes available.

The building has not been vacant as long as othersurplus CPS facilities and, based on our inspection, appears to be in relatively good condition.

2FM will work with CPD to estimate the cost of thenecessary improvements for review with OBM and the MO prior to implementation.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this approach. If not 2FM and CPDwill start working with CPS to solidify the arrangement.

2FM and CPD toured the CPS building in addition to North & Throop and North Park Village yesterday.

In order to make this site/building work financially, the work will need to be limited to minor renovations -meaning it’s not a complete rehab project. I think CPD understands that and is willing to be flexible. I am attaching a quick study we did with a few photos to show the potential for new use. Attached is a list of vacant CPS buildings. I took a quick look at those closed in 2015 and 2016 via Google Maps. The facilities highlighted on the list

appear to have ample parking.

There are other buildings on the list that were closed in 2015 and 2016; based on my quick review of these buildings they are either part of a larger

complex or don't have much parking.

I didn't look at the buildings closed in 2013 or earlier since they will likely be boarded-up and harder to put back into service than the recently closed

buildings.
