A big thank you to all students who attended this absolutely, outrageously funny musical theatre performance. The Bongo Brothers were pleased to see the involvement from the Forbes North Public School students and the brothers hope that their message was conveyed to all students about looking after our world. More information to come about Term 2 performance in our next newsletter where we might be travelling to outer space and beyond. Mrs Kennedy
From the Principal….. This week I would like to highlight an initiative that has become a regular part of the curriculum at Forbes North PS. Our K-6 Sport program has operated during Term 1 every year for the past four years, and has multiple benefits for all our students in all classes.
Students are placed into ‘vertical’ sports groups, so that each group contains students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The program focusses on skill development and game play, with the older students assisting the younger students to develop the skills needed to play and enjoy the games they are playing. Not only do we see our students developing better gross-motor skills, hand-eye coordination and understanding of games, but also evident is the development of leadership skills in the older ‘peer-mentor’ students.
These sport sessions truly are a joy to see! Have a great week!
Steve McAlister Principal

Class lessons this week will focus on students playing games safely at school, using the appropriate language for those games and putting equipment away
when they are finished using it.
And the Winner is… Zooper Dooper ! This Friday, 29th March, we will host our Zooper Dooper celebration. The students have worked extremely hard and reached 1000 Dinawans. This is a fantastic achievement by our students, as it is our 2nd PBL celebration day this term. Students will receive their ice blocks after the Pink Stumps activities. Well done everyone!
A big THANK YOU from the girls goes to the ‘chook wrangler’ for our health check and dusting!! Also….we desperately need donations of grain so if you can help please let the school know!
WHITE ELEPHANT/ PLANT/ BOOK STALL
The school fete is fast approaching and we would like to ask for donations of any clean and not broken unwanted items you may have at home that can be sold in our stall. Any donations of plants or pots and books are most welcome and can be sent into the school with your child or dropped in to the school office.

Last Friday was National Ridge2School Day, a nationwide program that enables students to get physically active and keep safe on their journey to school. Many students from our school participated by riding bikes or scooters to school on the day. Students were able to enter a colouring in competition to celebrate the day as well as receiving stickers.

Forbes North is participating in this years Big Vegie Crunch!
What is The Big Vegie Crunch?
Only around 5% of NSW children eat enough vegetables. To help our community do better, our school will be taking part in The Big Vegie Crunch (part of Vegetable Week) at 10:20am on Thursday 4th April.
Primary schools across NSW will be joining together to break the record for the most students crunching vegetables simultaneously. Last year 50,260 students crunched together.
What can you do to help?
• Pack a container of vegetables (not fruit this time) for your child to eat on Thursday 4th April • Keep serving up the vegetables at home and in your children’s lunchboxes!
If you require more information on what activities our school is doing over Vegetable Week, please contact the school or your child’s teacher.
