3WEEKLY PARISH BULLETIN - May 24, 2020

…”He answered them, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by His own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes

upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Our #rst reading, on this Feast of the Ascension, reminds us of an important truth – all things happen in God’s time. And in God’s time, we will be strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit will give us the grace to persevere, be hopeful in our patient waiting. The Spirit has the power to strengthen us so we can place our trust in the Lord. God’s time is not our time. God’s time is eternal. As Jesus is taken to His rightful and eternal place in Heaven, let us lift up our hearts, our prayers and our needs to the eternal care of God.

…This is a very special time of year for all of our school students. It’s graduation time and a time to bring to a close another year of learning and growing in the ways of the Lord. Special congratulations to all our graduates. We celebrate with you and thank God for you…and your amazing gifts and talents. Be assured of our prayers and congratulations! As we bring this school year to a close, special prayers of thanks to the faculty and sta% of Saint Ambrose School (K-8 and our Littlest Angels Preschool). We are so blessed by your amazing e%orts and dedication to our school. Especially in these past three months, you revealed our commitment to provide everything for every student, every day. God bless you. May these months ahead be #lled with a time of rest and renewal.

…Last Sunday, so many of our PSR catechists gathered in the parking lot for Doughnuts and to say goodbye to their PSR classes. It was inspiring to see our catechists coming together, supporting our students and families, and sharing stories and meaningful conversations with each other. We are so blessed. Special thanks to Janet Majka and her PSR team. Special thanks to Deb Houdek who keeps everyone in the PSR team going!!! God bless you one and all.

…As we end the school year, we know that this year is so di%erent than all the others. The transition to summer is going to be very di#erent and honestly, for many families, very hard to make. We have been working to prepare a ‘tool-kit’ to help parents and grandparents work with their children to both make the transition from school to summer and to make this summer, while di%erent, a

very enjoyable and renewing time. Every week we will provide some added ideas/information to this online tool kit. I think you will #nd it very, very helpful. To learn more to go: www.stambrose.us/summer-tool-kit/

…Next weekend we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. It has been #fty days since Easter. This Pentecost will have special meaning as we have the blessing of being able to come back together at the Table of the Lord. We have been working hard to make sure we are prepared to stir a sense of welcome, joy and safety as all of us come home to Church for Sunday Mass. Next Saturday, weather permitting, we will do two Masses on Saturday at the Grotto (4:30 pm and 6:30 pm). On Pentecost Sunday, Masses will be in the Church and Hilkert Hall at 7:30, 9:00, 10:30, 12 and 5:00 pm. We will also be streaming Mass online at: www.StAmbrose.us/watchmass. Today’s bulletin contains an infographic that outlines our guidelines to help us come back together. Please, for our common good, take a few minutes to review them. We all know that things will change over the next months, for now, these are the best guidelines for us to follow so that we can come together, take care of each other, keep each other healthy and safe, and be one together at the Table of the Lord.

…This week you will be receiving a letter in the mail. It comes as a gift from Church Budget, our envelope provider. It contains some good information about our community, along with your June daily prayer card. Remember in June, if each of us takes a minute or two a day to say the Our Father, then, in solidarity, thousands of us will be turning to the Lord and asking God to watch over us and keep us in His loving care. You can do that easily right now by going online to: www.stambrose.us/census. Thank you so much.

…Over the past month, our Pastoral Council and parish leaders have outlined an 8-point plan that will carry us for the next several months. It outlines some of the things we are working on and doing as a parish to make sure we are responding to the spiritual, pastoral and charitable needs of our community. Take a few minutes to go online to review it at: www.stambrose.us/return-to-church. Our Pastoral Council has been steady at it during these months calling, listening and working to make sure we are strengthening the bonds of faith and community at Saint Ambrose. We are blessed.

…As we prepare for the Feast of Pentecost, we’ve invited Father Rob Ramser to prepare a daily re!ection to encourage and inspire us to keep our hearts open to God’s Spirit. So many of you enjoyed his Divine Mercy Novena. This is another wonderful opportunity to prayerfully re!ect and stir up the Spirit of God in our hearts and lives.

…Many, many thanks to all of you who have already turned in your Festival Ra$e Tickets. It’s one more expression of your goodness and support…..thank you so much. God bless Linda Walters who won the #rst Early Bird Drawing of $150 in Speedway Gas cards - thanks to our friends at Marc’s. Special thanks to our friends at Brunswick AutoMart, Universal Windows Direct, Encompass the World Travel and Marc’s for helping us have such amazing prizes. See today’s bulletin for more details. The Festival Drawing will take place on Sunday, July 26, 2020. God bless you. Thank you so much!!

…God bless our PB&J lunch team and all who are providing so many supplies for these lunches and our Catholic Works of Mercy Outreach. Thanks, also, for your wonderful support for our parish community. God bless you - over and over again - for your goodness.

…This weekend we celebrate Memorial Day and honor all who have given their lives in service to our Country. We also pray always for those who serve to protect us and those who today stand in harm’s way. On Sunday we will have a ‘stay in your car’ Memorial Day parade route on our campus from 11 to 12:30 pm. On Monday we will have Mass online at 10:00 am where all the names of your loved ones you submitted will be honored and remembered in prayer.

…Starting on Tuesday, we will resume daily Mass in the Church at 8:15 am. It will take place Monday to Friday at 8:15 am. You can also #nd the Mass streamed online at: www.StAmbrose.us/watchmass.

…Many of you have noticed that Fr. Lorkowski hasn’t been around or seen much this past month. He is trying to heal from an aggravated lower back/sciatica. Keep him please in your prayers and thoughts.

…For those who joined us for the Mother’s Day Concert, we have invited J.R. Heckman back, along with some of his teachers and classmates from NYU for a concert on Friday, June 12 as we prepare to celebrate the 63rd Anniversary of our parish on June 13. Watch for details.

…”Come Holy Spirit”! This needs to be our prayer each day and always. I see God’s mighty Spirit alive and strong in our community. It’s inspiring to see your goodness and the many, many ways you bring the care and compassion, hope and love of Christ to our community…to one another…to our world. God bless you.

Senior CornerHow To Declutter Your Home | 6 Part Series

There are many reasons why you might choose to declutter your home and whittle down your belongings. Perhaps you’re planning to move into a smaller and more manageable home. Or you’ve decided to devote more of your time and money to traveling, or having new experiences rather than shopping for-and maintaining-more stu%-or selling your home.

Step 1. Start with Clothing, Shoes, and Accessories. There’s just something satisfying about clearing out unworn clothes, shoes and accessories. Although the result is rewarding, downsizing can be tough. Get rid of anything that doesn’t #t, physically or otherwise, shoes, hats etc; box up and donate. Next week we will cover Furniture and Home Décor.

“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”

DUE FOR A HAIRCUT!Tom suggested it was time for me to set an appointment since I greeted Him every morning looking like this. Actually I was getting tired of Him calling me "feathers-wild lady," who is that?! Monday was my appointment after 12 weeks of looking like my friend over here! Ha! Ha! - Helen Sheridan

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SAINT AMBROSE SCHOOL CLASS OF 2020!

On May 21, 47 students graduated from Saint Ambrose School fully equipped and ready to share their God-given gifts and talents in high school and beyond.

We are so proud of these deeply thoughtful, faith-#lled and creative young people, and while we miss them already, we know that they will shine the light of Christ and do great things. Especially during these challenging days, we know our future is very bright because they will be in it.

We are extremely grateful for their parents who recognized the value of this investment and partnered with our faculty and sta% to provide an exemplar Catholic education for them. May God bless our Class of 2020 and their families!

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED OUR VIRTUAL ANGEL GALA!

God be praised! On behalf of Father Bob, Mr. Dziedzicki, Mrs. Mitchell, our faculty, sta%, school families and especially our students, I can't thank you enough for your support this past weekend!

Our Angel Gala Committee reimagined this important fundraiser, rallied support and produced an event that was absolutely stellar. Many thanks and kudos to them and our Institutional Advancement team for coming together with innovation and great love for our Saint Ambrose School and Littlest Angels Preschool!

God blesses every o%ering we make and He truly blesses our Preschool through Eighth Grade family!

Sincerely in Christ,Lisa Cinadr
