Stölzle has been producing fine unleaded stemware, barware and accessories for over 150 years. The factory is located in the Lausitz area of Germany in a town called Weisswasser, a location selected years ago due to the abundance of natural resources used in production of fine crystal products. More than ever, its location has proven to give Stölzle a tremendous advantage as the cost of these native resources has risen dramatically in other areas of Europe.

Today Stölzle produces the finest machine-made crystal available for the retail and hospitality industries. Key elements of production are lead-free crystalline glass, clarity, brilliance, durability, high resistance to dishwasher breakage (certified for 1,000 rinse cycles), and value pricing of all products. Recently, the factory has reinvested several million dollars to upgrade its machines to ensure that Stölzle production is taking place on the most technically-advanced equipment in the world.

Our collections of high-performance stemware feature laser-cut and fire-polished rims, machine-blown bowls and drawn stems; features which, in the past, were only available on hand-made crystal. All of the advanced production methods and quality control systems that are in place at the Stölzle factory ensure that customers selecting Stölzle products will be purchasing the most advanced, machine-made crystal available in the world today.

Industrial expansion began in the Lausitz in the early 19th century. Before that time, the foundation of 67 glassworks in the region led to a unique worldwide concentration of production sites for hollow glass products.

1996Take-over by the 'Stölzle-Oberglas AG', Wien/Austria; parent company: CAG Holding GmbH/ AustriaConstruction & reconstruction of the production hall, the three production lines, and two furnaces used in the production of machine-made and lead-free drinking glasses.

2010Construction and commissioning of the fourth production line (supported by the Euro-pean Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Cleaning with dishwasherOur glasses are dishwasher safe and can be washed up to a washing temperature of 131°F by using mild dishwasher tablets or liquid. Changes in the glass, for example, the typical glass corrosion creating a haze, doesn’t start until after 1,000 rinse cycles if you abide by these rules.

The glasses should not stand in contact with each other in the dishwasher-leave a space between them. Contact with other materials like pots, cutlery and dishes should also be avoided. The use of special dish-washer racks will also help protect your glass against damage within the dishwasher.

The glasses should be positioned in the dishwasher so that they are free draining and that it is not possible for water to remain in the bottom of the glass. Water left over in the glass will lead to unsightly calcification and staining.

The water hardness for the location of use should be checked. You are then able to regulate the water hardness range of the dishwasher correctly and the glasses avoid lime-scale marks.

Right after the end of the rinsing process, open the dishwasher briefly. That way the steam can pass off.

To avoid high temperature fluctuations, do not open the dishwasher completely until it is cooled.

Cleaning by handWhile you can clean by dishwasher we advise dishwashing to clean the glasses by hand with warm water and a soft dishcloth. You could add a squirt of a mild liquid detergent. Afterwards you should rinse the glasses with warm and clear water once again to get rid of deposits of the liquid detergent, which could prevent the sparkling of champagnes or taint the taste of other beverages.

DryingThe glass has to be toweled right after the cleaning with a soft, lint-free towel (linen) or microfiber cloth. While drying the glass, take care of the wall thickness. If the wall and stem are thin, excess pressure can cause breakage or other damage to the glass.

Do not hold the glass by its stem or base as it is possible to twist off the bowl or the base. It is the best to hold the glass by its bowl when drying.

TemperatureAlways rinse with warm water.Glass should never be exposed to huge temperature fluctuations which can cause breakages.

StorageTo avoid damage/breakage:-Glass should always stand on its base, not on its rim to prevent damages at the rim.- Don’t nest/stack the glasses.- The glasses should not stand touching one another. Leave space between them.
