Asian Student Union: Spring Celebration Dinner- April 13 at 7 p.m. A dinner filled with Asian cuisine, performances and a speaker with this year’s theme being the “Welcoming of Spring.” Pride Alliance: Annual Gayla- April 6 at 6 p.m. The first Gayla will be a charity dinner highlighting pride’s efforts to make a better campus climate for our LGBT and Ally peers. Tickets are $5, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Finger Lakes’ LGBTQ Resource Center. It will be a three-course, semi-formal dinner with student performers.

Women’s Collective: The Vagina Monologues- Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.A play by Eve Ensler that explores issues regarding women’s experiences with sexuality and sexual violence. The Vagina Monologues is performed by HWS students. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for community members.

Hillel: Shabbat 250 (Vandervort room) on Shabbat Across America Day (goal of 250 participants) - March 1 at 6:30 p.m.Hillel is sponsoring a Shabbat 250 dinner. The purpose of this event is to reach out to the HWS, Temple Beth-El and Geneva communities and celebrate Shabbat together. Please RSVP to [email protected] by Feb. 27.

Students for a Free Tibet: Tibetan New Year Friday - March 4 - 8This is a semi- formal dinner which celebrates the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. This year we will highlight the values of our roots. This event will include performances and a guest speaker.

French and Francophone Club: “La fête du citron” - March 8A week-long celebration featuring different activities and information surrounding the Tibetan New Year. Stop by Scandling throughout the week and make your own prayer flags!

CSA: Masquerade Ball- March 9 at 5 p.m.Come dressed in your evening best—enjoy food, music and performances with this year’s theme “Stepping Back to Our Roots.” This year’s Masquerade will benefit the women of Pathways Togo.

Human Rights Collective: Oxfam Hunger Banquet: March/AprilFundraiser banquet which reflects the distribution of food around the world. 15% of attendees will get a steak dinner, 30% will get a spaghetti dinner and 55% will get bread rice and water. Proceeds go to Oxfam America. Contact Lucy Hoagland for more information.

Sankfoa: The Black Student Union: Charity Ball- March 30 at 6 p.m.Charity Ball is Sankofa’s annual dinner featuring performances and a silent auction. The auction is made possible through the generous contributions of local businesses. This year’s event will benefit Hand in Haiti, the organization that built a tuition-free school in Haiti after the earthquake.

International Student Association: Nowruz (Persian New Year)- March 30 at 5 p.m.Nowruz is the first day of the spring season. It is a festival principally celebrated in Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and many other countries in Central and South Asia and other parts of the world as well.
