THE BASICS OF DOT PLOT ANALYSIS
For Internal Use Only
HGB value from white run
HGB value from red run
Comparing the two HGB values to check dilutions.
1. The two hemoglobin values are obtained from separate dilutions
2. The Red HGB is measured with the blue LED while the HGB is still inside the RBCs
3. The White HGB is measured with the green LED after the HGB has been released from the RBCs – this is the reported value
4. The two values are usually within a few g/dL of each other.
For Internal Use Only
White HGB = 13.51
Red HGB = 12.43
HGB values are close
Conclusion:
Dilutions were appropriate

Differences Between Species
1. Appearance of RBC population on EXT-RAS
2. Location of Eosinophils on scatter plots
3. General size of the Unlysed RBC population
4. Tendency for platelets to aggregate during
the blood draw
