HIGH FREQUENCY SENSOR MODULE PMSM

1 INTRODUCTION1.1 Characteristics of high frequency sensor module

1.1.1 High frequency signal is able to penetrate non-metallic materials such as wood, brick, glass, etc., but it can not penetrate water or metal. It is possible to change the signal direction by using a metallic shield to adjust sensor’s detection coverage. 1.1.2 High frequency sensor module has high reliability and its detection range is less affected by temperature (0°C to +70°C), airflow, wind, etc.1.1.3 For indoor application only.1.1.4 The product can be installed in a closed non-metallic lamp housing.1.1.5 Humidity & vibration can weaken the performance of high frequency sensor.1.1.6 The sensor is more sensitive for movement of objects at different speeds.1.1.7 The high frequency sensor may be activated by snow & rain if within it’s detection area.1.2 The location of the sensor module is very important as false activations can occur due to penetration of non-metalic materials.

2.4 Be aware of the temperature inside lamp housing should be lower than +70°C.2.5 IIt is recommended to mount the sensor module on plastic, wood or PVC.2.6 Ensure the sensor module is installed at least 60mm away from ballast, lamp holder, or bulb with filament (See FIG.1).

A circuit breaker (250VAC, 6A) type C according to EN60898-1 shall be installed in the fixed wiring for protection.Do not mount on a conductive surface. Do not open the enclosure frequently.Turn off power when changing the light source.

6 INSTALLATION AND WIRINGThis sensor module is suitable for integrating into a variety of lighting fixtures madeof different kinds of materials (e.g. glass, acrylic, PVC) and lamps (For example, fluorescent, incandescent, PL, etc.) subject to having sufficient space inside the lighting fixture for installation. Select a proper lamp and refer to section 2 for installation.

NOTE

7.2 Manual override for switching light on for 4 hours ( Lux is independent )When sensor is standby under the auto mode, the sensor can be bypassed to turnthe light(s) on for 4 hours by series connecting a power supply switch with the L line of mains power and the “L” terminal of sensor (refer to the FIG. 10 for wiring), the LED will turn on 1sec & turn off 5sec repeatedly during this period.

When the light is on, switch the power supply switch “off → on → off → onwithin 2sec“, afterwards, light will turn off for 2sec. then on to confirm that sensor has entered into manual on 4 hours mode.In the manual on 4 hours mode, the sensor can be set to auto mode by switching the power supply switch “off → on within 1sec“, afterwards, light willbe off for 2sec. then enter into auto mode and sensor follows the VR or IR settings to work.

When the light is off, switch the power supply switch “off → on → off → onwithin 2sec“, afterwards, light will change its status from on 3sec & off 2sec &on to confirm that sensor has entered into manual on 4 hours mode.

The operations are as below:

If the power supply is discontinued 2sec., the sensor will reboot and run 30sec. warm-up time again.
