Ministry of Fisheries Undergraduate Scholarships in Quantitative Marine Biology
Ministry of Fisheries/NIWA Postgraduate Scholarships in Quantitative Fisheries Science
Scholarships available:
PhD – up to $30,000 p/a for up to three years
Masters – up to $25,000 p/a for up to two years
Scholarships are awarded as $5000 to support the final year of
undergraduate study.

In collaboration with NIWA, the Ministry of Fisheries is offering postgraduate scholarships for Masters or PhD students in the field of quantitative fisheries science, particularly stock assessment modelling.
Applicants with majors or minors in mathematics, statistics, or biology are encouraged to apply. Applicants with a strong quantitative background will be favoured. The number of scholarships available is dependent on the suitability of applicants.
The Ministry of Fisheries is offering undergraduate scholarships for students interested in a double major in mathematics or statistics combined with biology or marine biology.
Applicants enrolled in a minimum of 1 statistics or mathematics course in 2nd year, and 2 statistics or mathematics courses, as well as a marine biology course in 3rd year are eligible and encouraged to apply. Applicants with a strong quantitative background will be favoured.
