The Carolina Moon Musik Ensemble - perform an unconventional brew of world music and jazz with ancient and modern roots, evocative looped guitar scapes, exotic grooves, flavours of flamenco, klezmer, Arabic and Gaelic and wild, boundary stretching improvisations - at the heart of which lie the beautiful Ladino melodies of Judeo Spain. TEK TEK Ensemble - is a festive anthropological mini-orchestra consisting of three guys and three girls playing trumpet, trombone, violins, percussion, guitars, double bass, piano accordion, and the human voice. TEK TEK ensemble experiments and creates new compositions with inspiration from exotic and festive music from across the globe. The encyclopaedic repertoire of the ensemble is bound by the strict yet simple stipulation of danceability. This fine band has been put together by it’s individual members as an exercise in small group swing. Feel the Manouche has a ‘world music’ feel. Through it’s use of double bass, guitar, accordion & fiddle, the band achieves a strong melodic groove that can take on gypsy waltzes, swing jazz, choro and many other flavours of music from our diverse planet. Lionel Robinson & The Dukes of Lounge - WARNING: This act could be too much fun! British singer / pianist / tunesmith LR returns to Thredbo with a sackful of songs, an outrageous line-up of musos and a couple of nice shirts.
