INTRODUCTION

The following institutions have been granted Minority Status Certificate by National Commission for

As regards the admissions to the various courses being run in the Minority Institutions the Govt. has

decided the following policy and procedure will be adopted.

a. 50% of the seats will be filled by the Technical University through counseling based on the result of State

Entrance Exam (UP-SEE).

b. 50% seats will be filled by the Management of the Institutes from the candidates of their community subject to

the conditions as laid down by the U.P. Govt./Technical University.

Honb’le Supreme Court of India under writ petition of ISLAMIC ACADEMY OF EDUCATION

Vs. STATE OF KARNATAKA & P.A. INAMDAR case has clarified that:-

1. Minority Institutions are free to admit students of their own choice including students of non-minority

community as also members of their own community from other States.

2. Institutions imparting same or similar professional education situated in one State or in more than one

State may join together as one group of institutions for holding a Common Entrance Examination.

Consequently as per direction of Honb’le Supreme Court and Govt. of UP the above named Institutions have

formed a society known as Consortium of Minority Professional Educational Institutions with its

headquarter at Lucknow. 5-NEW GRAND MARKET, CANTT. ROAD, HUSAINGANJ, LUCKNOW.

The Governing Body of the consortium vide its resolution no. 03 dated 29.12.2010 has decided to hold

Common Entrance Examination for admission of respective minority community students in the Institutions

for the session 2011-2012. Common Entrance Exam will be held for all the courses being run by the member

Institutions of the consortium at the centres as per list under. Annexure-01

The details of such courses & Intake are given Institution wise on next page.

Azad Educational Society was established and registered in September 1991 under the Societies

Registration Act, 1860. The aim of the society is to develop socially & intellectually

sound citizens by imparting high quality education.

The Group offers a comprehensive mix of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the areas of engineering, management and pharmacy.

An Admission committee has been constituted by Consortium of Minority Professional Educational

Institutions for conducting & supervising the Common Entrance Examination for admission of eligible

candidate to various professional courses being offered by Consortium Member Institutions. The Admission

Committee is a high powered Committee and its decision in the matters relating to admissions shall be final.

Confirmed admission will ordinarily be not changed.

Common Entrance Examination will be objective type comprising of subject knowledge and aptitude

type written test and the detailed syllabi are attached in the brochure.

Successful candidates will be called for counseling to finalize the admission as per their choice.

Consortium means - Consortium of Minority Professional Educational Institutions (COMPEI)

AIMA means – All India Management Association who will conduct the Common Entrance

Examination as authorized by Consortium. AIMA is the appex body of management in the federation of

Local Management Association. It is trusted orgainzation and has 15 years experience in conducting various

competitive examinations.

Admission to various courses will be made on the basis of the score in Common Entrance

Examination (CEE). Entrance Examination will be held at the authorized center(s) as per following schedule:

vii. Completed application form duly filled in must reach All India Management Association nd

(AIMA) office latest by 02 May 2011 on following address:-

i. All the candidates are advised to study the Information Brochure thoroughly before filling

and submitting the application form for appearing in Common Entrance Examination.

ii. Candidates should ensure their eligibility that they have passed the qualifying examination

from any recognized Board/University and that they are eligible to seek admission as per

eligibility criteria.

iii. If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside U.P. State he has to submit

the domicile certificate in prescribed format.

iv. A candidate who has just appeared or is due to appear in qualifying examination and their

result is likely to be declared before the counseling can also appear in the Common Entrance

Examination. However no candidate will be admitted to any course if the result is not

declared before counseling inspite of his qualifying in Common Entrance Examination.

v. If any certificate or other document submitted by candidate is found forged/false at any stage

the admission to any course will be cancelled and legal action may be initiated against him.

vi. If any Board/University awards only grades and not equivalent percentage of marks then the

decision of the admission committee will be final.

vii. At the time of counseling seats will be allotted as per merit obtained by candidate in Common

Entrance Examination. Choice for particular course will depend upon the availability of seats

in that course in Institution.

viii. If the candidate fails to seek admission on the allotted seat after counseling the fee deposited

before counseling shall stand forfeited.

ix. Result of Common Entrance Examination declared by Admission Committee will be final.

Scrutiny of answer books can be allowed on payment of Rs. 1000/- per paper within 10 days

after the declaration of result.

x. All the Institutions under Consortium have been allowed Minority status by Govt. of UP and

as such 50% seats of each course will be filled from Minority Students including NRI quota

and the rest 50% seats will be filled through Counseling by G.B. Technical

University/Mahamaya Technical University. No other reservation will be applicable.

xi. If any candidate withdraws after completing all formalities of admission and depositing all

fees as required he will be allowed refund of fee as per Govt. orders.

xii. The candidates should attach the self attested photo copy of certificates and documents with

the application form and not the original. Such documents/certificates in original will be

submitted at the time of counseling.

xiii. Candidates are to report to the allotted test centre at least 45 minutes before the scheduled

commencement of the test.

xiv. Neither any candidate will be admitted 15 minutes after the commencement of the test nor

any extra time granted for competing the test.

xv. Candidates are to be in possession of the following when reporting to the test centre:

Document : Admit Card duly completed. Writing Materials : Ball Point Pen, HB Pencils,

Eraser and Sharpener.

xvi. The test room will be opened about 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. The

candidates are to be seated at the allotted place.

xvii. Admit Card will be verified during the test. One part of Admit Card will be given to candidate

as proof of having appeared in the test. Please ensure that this is duly signed by candidate and

the test invigilator.

xviii. The duration of the test is 2 hours. There are 100 questions. All questions are compulsory.

Each question has four options marked (1), (2), (3) and (4).

xix. All questions carry equal mark.

xx. It is the responsibility of candidate to make certain that he understands and follows the

directions for answering. AIMA can accept the responsibility of scanning / capturing answer

accurately only if it is competed in accordance with directions.

xxi. Take the questions in order, but do not waste time pondering over those that seem extremely

difficult or unfamiliar to you. A wise practice is to first answer the questions you are sure of.

Then, if you complete the test before time is called, go back and reconsider any questions

about which you were uncertain.

xxii. Although the MAT stresses on accuracy more than speed, it is important to use the allotted time wisely.

Make every effort to pace yourself by making yourself familiar with the mechanics of the test.

xxiii. The directions explain exactly what each set of questions requires to answer those questions.

xxiv. Read all test directions carefully. Read each question carefully and thoroughly. Before

answering a question, determine exactly what is being asked.

xxv. Calculator, Paper, Mobile, etc are not permitted inside the test room.

xxvi. All the questions and instruction of the test will be in English/Hindi only.

xxvii. Candidate will be allowed to leave the test room after the completion of test and only after

permitted by the invigilator. If you wish to leave the room during the test, you must have the

invigilator’s permission. You will not be permitted to make up the time you lose.

xxviii. AIMA reserves the right to cancel the admission/entry to the test/withhold the results of any

candidate who impersonsates/uses unfair means during the test. This is without prejudice to

any other action that can be initiated.

xxix. Non-adherence to any instructions or failure to comply with any rules governing the conduct

of test will lead to cancellation of your candidature.

xxx. All disputes pertaining to any aspect of the test will be settled through any arbitrator, who

shall be appointed by the Director General, AIMA. Further, all legal cases pertaining to any

matter of the test will be dealt with under the jurisdiction of Delhi Court only.

xxxi. The candidate will be provided a sealed Question Booklet and an OMR Answer Sheet. Do not

open the Question Booklet until announced.

xxxii. Fill the necessary information in the space provided on the cover of the Question Booklet and

the Answer Sheet before commencement of the test.

xxxiii. The candidates are to sign the attendance sheet during test duly endorsing the Question

Booklet series as given on the Question Booklet and other details.

xxxiv. Answer are to be marked on the Answer Sheet, which is provided separately. Choose the

correct option and darken the oval completely corresponding to (1), (2), (3) & (4) against the

relevant question number. Use only HB Pencil to darken the oval for answering. Please do not

darken more than one oval against any question, as scanner will not read the same correctly.

xxxv. If you wish to change any answer, erase completely the one already marked and darken the

fresh oval with an HB pencil. Do not tear or bend or mutilate the Answer Sheet.

xxxvi. Rough work, if any, is to be done on the Question Booklet only. No separate sheet will be

provided / used for rough work.

xxxvii. Answer Sheet is scanned by machine and scores are computed. Accuracy in scoring is

dependent on the examinees marking their answer sheets properly and the completeness of

their erasures when used. Therefore accurate scoring is dependent on you strict adherence to

the following points:

� No credit will be given for the answers marked in the question booklets.

� Use HB pencil to complete the answer sheet. Please do not darken more than one oval

against any question, as scanner will not read the same.

� Do not tear, bend or mutilate the answer sheet.

� Be sure that you accurately mark all identification and question booklet series.

xxxviii. At the conclusion of the test you should hand over your Question Booklet and Anser Sheet to

the invigilator.

xxxix. Appropriate civil/criminal proceedings will be initiated against applicant found taking or

attempting to take the full or part of the Question Booklet or Answer Sheet outside the test room.

4. ADMISSION CRITERIA

5. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR OF

B. TECH./B.Pharma/B.FAD/MBA /MCA COURSE

Admission of students to the 1st Year of the various courses under Consortium of

Minority Professional Educational Institutions (COMPEI) shall be made according to the

following criteria.

i. Common Entrance Examination for admission to B.Tech./B.Pharm/B.FAD/MBA/MCA and

other professional courses will be conducted by the COMPEI through All India Management

Association (AIMA). The minimum qualification for appearing in Common Entrance

examination and the schedule of examination shall be as given hereafter.

ii. The Consortium of Minority Professional Educational Institutions (COMPEI) will insert

advertisement in NEWSPAPERS regarding the admissions in different courses being run in the

various Institutions under COMPEI.

iii 50% Admission of sanctioned intake in each course will be through the CEE of COMPEI

conducted through AIMA and the rest 50% admissions will be through UPSEE-2011.

iv. In case the Minority seats in any course remain vacant/left over or dropout the same will be

filled from the candidates in the waiting list. In case the seats still remain vacant COMPEI will

have the right to admit other eligible candidates.

The minimum academic qualification to appear in Common Entrance Examination-2011 (CEE) is a

pass in the final qualifying examination as given below.

8. ADMIT CARD

i. Admit Card will be sent by post to each candidate byAIMA.

ii. In case of non-receipt of admit Card Duplicate Admit Cards can be downloaded from website

www.specialtest.in/compei2011and can also be collected from the examination centre.

iii. For getting duplicate admit card, the candidate should contact his center of examination. Such

candidates should carry the following to the center:

a. Two passport size photographs (Black & White) similar to that pasted on the application form.

b. Rs. 50.00 as Fee for duplicate admit card.

c. The application form number.

d. Proof of having submitted the application form.

Iv. A plea that the candidate failed to receive the information for appearing at the Common Examination will

not be accepted as a ground for the refund of fee or any other redressal. The Admission Committee may

withdraw the permission to appear in Common Entrance Examination granted by mistake to a candidate

who is not eligible to appear at the Common Entrance Examination even though an Admit Card has been

issued and produced by the candidate before the concerned Center Superintendent at the center.

9. MEDIUM AND MODE OF EXAMINATION

The candidates appearing in the Common Entrance Examination have to answer the papers in English

or Hindi. In all cases the Standard English numbers must be used. All question papers will carry objective

multiple choice questions.

10 EVALUATION AND DECLARATION OF RESULT.

i. The results of Common Entrance Examination will be declared on website : specialtest.in/compei2011

and on member institutions website.

ii. Separate merit lists on the basis of performance of candidates in Common Entrance Examination will

be prepared for B. Tech. /B.Pharma/B.FAD/MBA/MCA courses.

iii. In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, inter – se- merit of such candidates shall be

determined.

iv. The Admission Committee reserves right to impose a certain cut – off percentage of marks (to be

decided at the time of declaration of result) about passing in exam. All successful candidates will be

called for counseling by giving intimation through website : specialtest.in/compei2011 and by post

but delay on part of Post Office will not be owned.

11. DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination from an institution/ University located

outside the State of Uttar Pradesh and who are eligible for admission to any course are required to produce

Domicile Certificate at the time of admission on certificate no- 01.

12. MEDICAL STANDARDS

i. Candidates called for counseling will have to submit an undertaking for Medical fitness on certificate no.-02

ii. The candidates will have to submit Medical certificate on profarma given as per certificate no.- 3 at the

time of admission in the Institute.

13. COUNSELLING

i. ON-CAMPUS COUNSELLING There will be counseling of the successful candidates at counseling

center on a scheduled date. The counseling schedule will also be available on

website : specialtest.in/compei2011.

ii. The allotment of the seat/branch will be made during the ON CAMPUS counseling on the basis of

candidate’s merit position in Common Entrance Examination.

iii. Candidates submitting the downloaded form shall submit Demand Draft of Rs. 600/- (Rupees 600) A

counseling letter will be sent through post to the successful candidates. Any delay on part of Post office

is not the responsibility of the AIMA/COMPEI Institute/Admission Committee. Candidate can

download counseling letter from the website : specialtest.in/compei2011

iv. The candidates called for the counseling will be required to come with original certificates of

qualifying examination/marksheet, certificates etc. with one attested copy of each.

v. Verification of Original documents would be done at the time of counseling at the counseling center.

The candidates will not be considered for admission if he does not show the original documents at

counseling center. However the originals will be returned to candidates after the counseling.

vi. The initial fee of Rs. 5000/- will be deposited at the time of counseling in the form of Bank draft drawn

in favour of Consortium of Minority Professional Educational Institutions payable at Lucknow.

However, this initial fee is adjustable against total fee payable at Institution if candidate takes

admission.

vii. The initial fee deposit of Rs. 5000/- will be forfeited if the candidate does not take the admission in the

concerning Institute after allotment of seat / branch. Requests for return of this fee in such case will not

be entertained.

viii. The latest instructions of AICTE / GBTU /MTU and Govt. of UP regarding admissions shall be

applicable.

Current Electricity: Concept of free and bound electrons, drift velocity and mobility, electric current,

Ohm’s law , resistivety, conductivity, temperature dependency of resistance, resistance in series and parallel

combination, kirchoff’s law and their application to network of resistances , principle of potentiometer,

effect of temperature on resistance and its application.

Magnetic Effect of Current: Magnetic field due to current, Biot-Savart’s law, magnetic field due to

solenoid, motion of charge in a magnetic field, force on a current carrying conductors and torque on current

galvanometers and its conversion into ammeter and voltmeter.

Magnetism in Matter: The magnetization of substance due to orbital and spin motions of electrons,

Electromagnetic induction: Induced e.m.f. Faraday’s laws, Lenz’s law, electromagnetic induction, self and

Ray optics and optical instruments: Source of light, luminous intensity, luminous flux, illuminarce,

The test is aimed at evaluating the verbal ability, quantitative aptitude, logical & abstract reasoning and

knowledge of current affairs. The following is a brief description of contents of the test paper.
