The legendary Gibson Les Paul Standard, named after inventor - musician Les Paul, did not appear on the market until 1958, six years after the first Les Paul’s arrived.  With the Humbucking pickups a new Les Paul was born.   Today, this Les Paul has evolved even further with the addition of the Custom Bucker pickup, and lightweight aluminum stopbar tailpiece.  Along with a figured “A” grade maple top  this Les Paul features a unique one-of—kind finish application referred to as “Fool’s Gold.”  Like the description implies, “Fool’s Gold” is an expression to describe when novice inspector’s mistook tiny pieces of pyrite for Gold when panning for it in old mining days.  The appearance was one thing but upon closer inspection, something totally different.  That was the thought process behind the “Fool’s Gold” finish.  Initial appearance is a slightly darker burst than the traditional Ice Tea finish, but on closer inspection, you see the infusion of our custom gold process.  A truly unique, and vibrant finish.   A Gibson Classic is reborn!
