A Message from the Board of Directors

This year 2018 marks Fook Lai’s 11th Anniversary and it gives us

great pride to say that we have done a long way since our humble

beginnings. From a staff head count of 20, we have in our employ

today 263 staff. The contract value of our projects to-date is

estimated at more than RM200 million. All our projects have

been completed satisfactorily and ahead of schedule. In a period

of 11 years, FL has grown from strength to strength but we could

not have done it without the backbone of the company – our

people. So we would like to say a big thank you to all of you for

your hard work, your loyalty and your belief in FL. Keep up the

good work and we look forward to another successful 11 years.

Fook Lai Construction & Development Sdn. Bhd. (Co. No.

712020-V) was incorporated on 7 October 2005 and is a

UPKJ Class A and CIDB Grade 7 licenses contractor with

ISO 9001:2008 certified contractor.

Our activity is construction and property development

with special emphasis on government, commercial and

individual projects.

FL Social Club was jointly formed by all employers and employees.

Funding was raised by contribution from all the

Balingian 275kV Substation Establishment which

consists of design and construction of 1 unit of

275kV control building, switchyard foundation ,

cable trenches, drainage, fence, premix road,

laying od subsoil pipe and gravel topping works.

Extension of existing 275kV Substation which

consists of design and construction for capacitor

bank foundation, switchyard foundation, cable

trenches, drainage, fence, premix road, laying of

subsoil pipe and gravel topping.

Construction of premix road of 3km to link both

Kampung Asom and Kampung Parang at Puncak

Borneo area. Total of 2 concrete bridges and 11

culverts are constructed along the RC drain

Construction of a gravel road of 8km

to link the Kampung Penyuai up to

Kampung Salah Kecil at Pulau Bruit.

Total of 2 steel bridges and 12

culverts are constructed along the

RC drain.

CADANGAN NAIK TARAF KUARTERS DAN

This project is located at Park City area,

Bintulu town. The scope of works are

renovation works to the existing Balai

Bomba Office, new 8th storey quarters, 1

block of surau and infrastructure works

which are to be completed by January

2019.

On 9th November 2017, Sarawak Energy Berhad presented award to Fook Lai in recognition of

excellent support, dedication and active participation in achieving 500, 000 Man-Hours worked

without Loss Time Injury for Tudan 275kV Substation Reconstruction Project, Miri.

To commemorate FL’s 10th Anniversary on 6th June 2017, six long

serving, loyal and exemplary staff who have been with FL since the

very beginning were given a “10 years Employees Award”. They are

Danny Julian Wong Li Chian, Choo Siat Ling, Connie Sim Chui Hong,

Ronny Ha Poh Loong, T’ng Chee Bung and Loh Hie Nyuk.
