In particular, capacity planning is provided with full integration to the LINKFRESH Distribution Packaging functionality, identifying how many pallet spaces are required, and what types of pallet can be used on each transport type. Haulage costs are recorded within the General Ledger as accruals, and reversed by purchase invoicing. If used in conjunction with LINKFRESH Consignment functionality, then the charges can be treated as landed cost, absorbed into the inventory valuation, and flowing through to your cost of sales, and are automatically recorded back to the source consignment, for true lot profitability reporting. When used in conjunction with the LINKFRESH Advanced Transportation the outstanding new features of the Transport Management System in core Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU9 are enhanced with further features for automation of load generation, building loads based on numbers of pallet footprints, and with enhanced mobile capabilities to pick to the load, using a work list, whilst capturing the distribution packaging handled on the transaction.

Charges of distribution packaging rental can be recorded for reconciliation of charges on distribution packaging invoices, and stock levels of such packaging can be proactively managed for inventory control, and waste reporting purposes.

The concept of ‘Pick-Ups’ and ‘Drops’ are used to manage the interactions of your haulier with customers, vendors, depots or consolidators, and ‘Appointments’ can be used to manage the timing of those interactions.

An additional concept of ‘Loading Slots’ allows for the more precise timing of how long a vehicle is likely to remain at an appointment, to be able to pro-actively manage the capacity of your loading and unloading bays.

In addition, when used in conjunction with the LINKFRESH Third Party functionality, transport can be managed for movements of third party inventory (Third Party Receipts and Third Party Shipments), recording the costs, income and therefore profitability of third party logistics (3PL) operations.
