The system works seamlessly with our LINKFRESH Consignments to record cost and income in such a way to be able to report on the profitability of any particular consignment of handled goods, or any particular work center within the operation. Used on its own, LINKFRESH Third-Party Services gives you the capability of tracking the services you perform on behalf of others, ensuring you manage the invoicing process effectively, monitoring those services that make you money, and eliminating those that don’t. One of the fundamental features of LINKFRESH Third- Party Services is the capability of operating in a ‘Trader / Service Provider’ operation. This is a model whereby your organization has 2 businesses; one owns the stock; the other performs operations on that stock. In a classic ‘Trader / Service Provider’ relationship, the ‘Trader’ must see anything relating to his own stock, and the service charges expected to be received by the service provider, but must not see the costs associated with that. The ‘Service Provider’ must see the costs and revenue associated with services performed on the stock, but must not see the purchase price, sales price or other inventory related costs. The major challenge in third party handling is to be able to treat the stock throughout the supply chain with all the same rigor as your own stock, but with some fundamentally different accounting treatment. Stock mustn’t hold value in the accounts, and any costs and revenue associated with the stock, arises from the capture of handling charges and costs, and needs to be charged back to the owner.
