Accessibility:•Food that is made available, must be accessibility….•This is also a part of the distribution….•When made accessible, it needs to be in all part of the country……

Affordability

•Although food is available and accessible it cannot reach the poorer sections of the society if it is not affordable…..•Ration Shops are made for the same reasons….

Food Security In INDIA

Buffer Stock:

•Buffer Stock Is the stock of food grains namely, wheat and rice.•These are produced by the Food Corporation Of India (FCI).•These are purchased from farmers who have surplus production.•The farmers are paid the Minimum Support Price.•They are sold for a lesser price called Issue Price.

Public Distribution System (PDS)

•The food made by the government is sold to the people via ration shops etc…•This is called PDS. •Ration Shops are also called Fair Price Shops.

AdvantagesIt erases poverty.

It enhances development.

It reduces food starvation.

It leads to a healthy population.

It indirectly develops the education of the country.

It leads to corruption and black money

It benefits developed families more than poorer ones.

Food Is not Distributed equally or properly.
