The purpose of this act was to improve the national regulations of pesticides used in order to enhance public health and environmental protectionThe FPQPA of 1996 amended both FIFRA and the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), and establishes a new safety standard for pesticide residues in food and emphasizes protecting the health of infants and children.
