Food Chain StoryBy Logan
There was once a little patch of grass, but one day a little hungry grasshopper came along and ate it all up. Munch. Munch.Grass is a producer. Producers are living things that make there own food using photosynthesis. Grasshoppers are herbivores which means that theirwhole diet is just plants.
Then a lizard saw the grasshopper and gobbled him up. Gobble. Gobble. Lizards are omnivores. That means that they eat both meat and plants.
Then the lizard was full and was relaxing in the sun. All of a sudden a fox sprinted out of the woods and pounced on the lizard. Foxes like lizards are omnivores.
When the fox went off to find some more food he encountered a grizzly bear. A giant old bear. The fox put up a fight but the bear did win. The bear was so hurt that soon after he died. The bear is also an omnivore.
A vulture spotted the dead grizzly bear and called his friends and they finished him. Vultures are scavengers. Scavengers are animals that eat dead animals.
After the vulture flew off, the bear decomposed into the soil and grass started to grow
Once the grass grew, another little grasshopper came by and munched it all up. Munch. Munch. The cycle restarted and went on for awhile.
