Film music: an art without barriers

“Film music is the music of all styles, all cultures, all lands… thiscapacity catches us especially, simply because its shows the immensepower of music to cut across barriers on a creative and broadcastinglevel. In fact it is not rare to see the music of an American film writtenby a French composer, a TV series by a Polish musician, a Japanesefilm by a German composer. The same thing goes for the technical andlogistical environment: Studios in Prague, Sofia, London, Nassau orBratislava are parts of the creation of these works, and form a collec-tion of mobile international production links. These creative conditionsgiving kind of a universal nature to the world of film music.“

The Master Programme “Music for Film and Media” at the DanubeUniversity Krems will create an international Network of Excellencefor Composers with a synthesis of composing, audio technology andefficient production management. Participants will acquire knowledgeabout applications of music for film, TV and interactive digital media,as well as for business audio and sound branding.

The programme will develop new professional opportunities for the“Creation Generation“ who bring in empathy, passion and fantasy fornew audiovisual dimensions.

The Master Programme appeals to musi-cians, composers, sound and media artists,music producers and musicologists whoare interested to join a post-graduate pro-fessional training with the focus on musicfor film, TV, interactive media, sound bran-ding and business applications and who areinterested to expand their business networks.
