 The Function of the

CYCLO® Drive Centrifuge Reducer

 The Cyclo Drive centrifuge reducer provides thedifferential speed between the bowl and the con-veyor.The exactly balanced housing is connectedwith the bowl and turns with the bowl speed.Theoutput shaft of the Cyclo Drive is connected withthe conveyor and transmits the torque which isneeded for the solid transport.The input shaft canbe fixed with a torque arm or driven with a back drive motor to provide the necessary relativespeed.

 The flexible lubrication system allows grease lubri-

cation as well as all kinds of oil lubrication accor-ding customer's requirements. Mounting dimensi-ons can be designed to fit into all applications.

 There are four different main types available toallow all kinds of drive systems for the application.

ZS as single stage version for most applicationswhen conveyor turns faster than bowl.

ZSPN and ZSPV as double stage version for higherratios. ZSPN provides conveyor slower than bowl,ZSPV provides conveyor faster than bowl.

 The very special type ZSPR as double stage redu-cer with a differential planetary stage allows varia-ble relative speed over the full control range of themotor with slower as well as faster conveyor.

Loadtest Rig

Extensive test runs are necessary after the deve-

lopment of new centrifuge reducers. For that pur-

pose, Sumitomo designed and built test rigs,

where the operating modes of centrifuges can be

simulated.
