as & Damian Marley are touring the world pro-moting their new album Distant Relatives and made a stop in Orlando June 13. Not only did the

show sell out but the energy in the audience was undeni-able. Hip hop heads and reggae lovers fi lled the room and knew every word to every song whether it was Distant Relatives, Illmatic or Halfway Tree. Even before they came on, DJ Green Lantern was spinnin everyone’s favorite jams and letting the audience fi nish the songs. Nas and Damian each did a few solo sets and took it back to their solo days and undoubtedly pleased the crowd. The icing on the cake was the encore by Damian Marley... As the crowd began to leave, he grabbed their attention by paying homage to his father, Bob Marley, and performed “Exodus” which was priceless moment for the entire room.

THE WORD ON THE STREET IS THAT HOLLYWOOD EAST IS REAL HOT. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE SECRET TO THE SUCCESS OF THE COMPANY?

Chris: When you’re in it for the right reasons you are really motivated to pull the best qualities out of yourself to make things work. My partner and I both have a crazy passion for music and for creat-ing experiences around music for people to enjoy.

by E$CO and Kristin Kinville

ARE YOU THE

by E$CO and Kristin Kinville

FLYERPROMONOW & TALKOFORLANDO.COM PRESENT THIS WEEK’S TALK OF ORLANDO,

HOLLYWOOD EAST (HWE) IS A TEAM WHO COLLECTIVELY HAS 15 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. THEY ARE INNOVATIVE AND BELIEVE IN THE CONCEPT OF “UNITY” IN WHICH ALL PROMOTERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE; SO ALL CAN BENEFIT & BE PROUD OF THE WORK ACCOMPLISHED. HWE IS A MULTI-FACETED COMPANY; PRODUCING SHOWS SUCH AS CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER, LEADERS OF THE NEW COOL AND WORKING WITH ARTIST SLIM E AND DIRECTOR WUZ GOOD (SLIM-E’S FIRST VIDEO “HERE WE GO” FEATURING CAM’RON). HOLLYWOOD EAST IS OPERATED BY HUMBLE PEOPLE WITH A HOLLYWOOD MENTALITY - THINK BIG AND WORK SMART.

That passion is the foundation. Sacrifi ce, discipline, consistency, and commitment all come after that to create a successful company.

FOR THOSE THAT DON’T KNOW, WHAT IS HOLLYWOOD EAST? WHAT IS THE VISION OR GOAL OF THE COMPANY?

Dominique: Hollywood East Entertainment is primarily known as an event and nightlife pro-motions company. We promote Fat Tuesdays at Antigua, the Leaders of the New Cool showcase series, and have done concerts with pretty much everyone at this point like Young Jeezy, Li’l Wayne, Busta Rhymes, and many more. We also manage talent and consult for various other projects and companies.

Chris: We also want to create a legacy where we become infl uential culturally important as a company, it’s not all just about making money…Eventually we want to get involved with movies and more. Can’t fi ll you in on everything, but let’s just say that major things are in store!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY?

Dominique: It’s been fi ve years with Hollywood East Entertainment and I was working in the indus-try for about two years before that. So, that’s seven years total!

Chris: I’m going on fi fteen years now, but it feels like we’re just getting started!

YOU GUYS SEEM SO HUMBLE IN WHAT YOU DO. HOW ARE YOU GUYS ABLE TO REMAIN HUMBLE IN A BUSINESS WHERE PEOPLE “SHOW OFF”?

Chris: Well, I just understand that just as fast as you can achieve success, you can lose it. No matter how much money or power you have, it can all be gone. I’ve been on both sides of the equation, personally. It’s impossible for me to forget where I come from. Most important, I’m also a spiritual person, so that gives me a true understanding that keeps me grounded.

Dominique: The ups and downs are inevitable. I would also say that as much as Chris has accom-plished with HWE, and 4Play Productions before that, and even though we’ve done a lot together, we still feel like we have so much more to do. We have to stay humble because we are still lower on the totem pole when it comes to our ultimate goals.

STHOW WOULD YOU COMPARE THE CLUB SCENE IN ORLANDO TO THE CLUB SCENE IN MIAMI? WOULD THERE BE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT THE SCENE IN ORLANDO?

Dominique: Miami is Miami, Orlando is Orlando. You can’t turn one scene into the other. There are cool elements of party scenes in other markets that we do want to try for Orlando, but we would tailor them to fi t instead of trying to force a change

Chris: At the end of the day, I think it’s important that we all start to appreciate Orlando for what it IS instead of what it isn’t. There are great people HERE who want to party so you have to create events that they will enjoy. Orlando has its own vibe and culture that can fl ourish even more if we made more effort to understand and develop it.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE THAT IS INTERESTED IN PROMOTIONS?

Chris: First, fi gure out whether you want to promote parties, concerts, or events. Then, fi gure out exactly how much you need fi nancially to make those things happen and times that by three. You don’t want to end up in a situation where one bad loss takes you completely out of the game. Really do your research and know your target audience so you don’t spend your dollars unwisely.

Dominique: Surround yourself with mentors, people who have experience and are willing to show you the ropes. That may mean you have to humble yourself and learn the value of listening. Also, fi nd out what you uniquely have to offer the game and try to express that in everything you do. That becomes your brand.

WHAT OTHER CURRENT OR UPCOMING EVENTS DO YOU GUYS HAVE IN STORE FOR THE CITY OF ORLANDO?

Chris: In addition to the Cedric the Entertainer show on June 25th, we will also be bringing the Leaders of the New Cool concert series that has been in NYC, Chicago, LA, Atlanta, Austin and DC to Orlando at the end of July. More club nights in store, bigger hip-hop shows for the second half of the year. Just more “events” for Orlando that really make an impact.

Dominique: Our artist, Slim E is also going to be shooting his fi rst video for his single “Here We Go” which features Cam’ron. The shoot will take place in various locations around Orlando and will be directed by Wuz Good. We will defi nitely be posting shooting locations for that very soon so that all of Orlando can come out!

WHAT FORMS OF PROMOTION DO YOU GUYS USE TO PROMOTE YOUR NIGHTS?

Dominique: Each campaign is different, but it’s important that every event have some presence on radio, internet and on the street with print materials. For special events like the Cedric the Entertainer show or other big concerts, we’ll also run a TV schedule.

Chris: The internet has been a great tool in the last few years, especially the social networks because there’s that interactive element. When you see an event that your friend wants to attend on Facebook or something everyone is talking about on Twitter, you get the feeling that it’s YOUR type of event and you want to be there, too. I’m defi nitely from an era before the internet was necessary and I still think some rely on it too much, but it is a great tool.

THERE ARE A COUPLE OF WEBSITES IN ORLANDO DEDICATED TO CLUB/NIGHT LIFE PROMOTION. DO YOU CURRENTLY WORK CLOSELY WITH ANY OF THOSE COMPANIES AND IF SO WHO?

Chris: We work very closely with the Event Junkies (http://www.eventjunkies.net), 407 Party Link (www.407partylink.com), and Culture Climax (http://cultureclimax.com). There are other sites we work with on and off, too. We hope to do more work with Talk of Orlando in the near future!

IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THERE IS SOME SORT OF SEGREGATION BETWEEN PROMOTIONAL COMPANIES IN THE CITY. WOULD YOU GUYS AGREE WITH THAT STATEMENT?

Chris: We have a good market. I think everyone working in the industry here should improve com-munication. That helps us to take care of what we have and take care of the people here who want to come out. When one promoter gives a venue, a radio station, a local business or the fans a bad experience, it hurts the whole market for the future. Let’s keep the communication going and we can all win!

DO YOU GUYS HAVE ANY SHOUT OUTS AT THIS TIME?

Chris: We just want to shout out all the people who attend our events. Without support from the people, we really would have no business. Anyone who we have worked with past and present, all the venues, everyone at the radio stations, our marketing partners, sponsors, and anyone who has invested in Hollywood East is always greatly appreci-ated. We always let those folks know. That being said, I defi nitely want to give a great big shout-out to my boy Toneye Brown for always stayin’ down! You know what it is!

Hot summer nights call for hot summer fun. Don’t we just love this time of the year? Time to play off all that hard work we put in all year long.

From vacations, to large concerts, and summer jam parties, Orlando is filled with so much to do. And you already know your Starlet is ready to party! We can say that it is NOW officially Summer, and that NOW is the time to really enjoy ourselves. Check out where I partied last week…did you make it out?

SUNDAY FUNDAY

@ SKY 60

Who says you only can party at night? This fantastic weekly event takes place 2pm-9pm on the rooftop of Sky 60. It’s free admission all day long! Come chill in the cabanas and daybeds situated throughout the area. Another “step out your box” productions by Barnard Fleurima. The ladies came dressed fl y and the guys

were super cool this past week. Only three weeks in, and you can tell that this is going to be your hangover suite each & every Sunday afternoon. For this all day aff air, the DJ lineup is sick! DJ Remington Steele, DJ Will Duran, DJ M-Squared, and DJ Flent D. Banging drink specials & food for sale! The temperatures don’t matter cause it’s never as hot as this party! Don’t miss out this week!

ART ME ORLANDO

@ ROK ROOM

EventJunkies.net have done it again with this “not your typical” art show. Steph Wood showcased her self-expression line of art this past Monday, June 14, for Art Me Orlando: Self Expressions. Rok Room displayed over 20 pieces of Steph Wood’s recent work, premiering nude expressions of women, pop culture favorites like Michael Jackson and Kurt Cobain, and even self portraits of Steph Wood herself. This is one of my favorite events to attend in Orlando, and if you were there to mix and mingle with many culturally-infused Orlandians, you know exactly what I am talking about. To top off the amazing pieces of art, Colourful Money brought out their Pop Up Shop, where they were selling their brightly colored printed T-shirts, and the display was AMAZING, thanks to Shelly Flash. Also, Atibaperformed live with his smooth reggae-meets-hip-hop sounds. You can see more of Steph Wood at www.stephwoodpaint.com.

It’s known to all that Starlet loves the parties that the summer brings, but I also love music. Be sure to keep me in touch with any upcoming mixtapes that may be coming out and I will let the streets know. Send your mixtapes, flyers, and any other info to [email protected]. Until then, LET’S CELEBRATE!

ck, How’s life after winning our contest? Things are coming along very well. I just recently

recorded one of the best songs of my career. I just got great that is going to speed up the release date on my fi rst album. People are giving positive feed-back and starting to realize that I’m more than just another rapper. On top of all that, I just got a con-tract to produce someone’s full album. I must say, life is good. No complaints here.

How did you get into tHe rap game and wHat occupation were you pursuing before your career took off?

Well it’s actually a long story how I got into the rap game. I was never one of those people that aspired to be an artist all my life. I had to be talked into it quite a few times. I was in college at Tuskegee Uni-versity majoring in Electrical Engineering but when things didn’t work out I fi gured making beats was the next best thing. I still don’t consider myself of-fi cially a rapper just yet.

Interview by Nick Grace

How would you cHaracterize your style of music? That’s hard to say. I try not to categorize myself

because every time I produce my music I try to do something different and surprise myself. If I had to describe it, however, I would say I have a slightly up north lyricism with a down south swag, all tied to-gether with a sense of realism, even when I’m being artistic.

wHo are some of your greatest influences in and out of tHe industry?

What really inspired me to create beats was when I discovered how easy it was. In 2002 I saw a guy making beats on a Playstation 2. I thought you had to have major equipment to make great sound-ing songs, equipment I thought I would never see. It went from a PS2, to some entry level equip-ment, to Fruity Loops, then a Roland Fantom X7 and then finally Pro Tools. When it comes to rap-ping, Jay-Z first inspired me, but not to rap. He ac-tually kept me from rap-ping. Because I thought, “Why rap if I can’t go this hard?” Later in life, I realized that not only lyr-ics make a great song. It’s the frame of mind that it puts you in and how it makes you feel and plays with your emotions.

wHat is tHe name of your new album and Have you came out witH a release date as of yet?

I have yet to come up with a release date, but the title to my first and upcoming album is “Multifac-eted”. It is an album but it is not really tied togeth-er like a full project but more of an assortment of what I am capable of. It is one of the many “facets” of my music. It all started as an “I can really rap, but people will hear the beats and want to buy some” kind of thing.

How do you plan on getting more exposure towards your new album? do you Have any sHows or events coming up?

I’m hoping that winning this competition and put-ting the samples of my music online will go so far along with word of mouth. I have other ideas to promote myself that I have yet to indulge in. No shows or events as of now. I’m really just a simple person to my roots and my musical life has not got-ten that complex as of yet. I’m sure this article will also help. I appreciate it.

How do you feel about tHe industry rigHt now and wHo is your favorite artist and wHy?

I think the industry has indirected the work ethic of music right now. It’s all about a dollar now in-stead of how people feel about the music. Rappers are not really putting themselves into their music because they’re not really comfortable with the real them. My favorite artists are Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, Jay Electronica, and Kanye West, just to name a few big names. The list goes on but mainly anyone who actually listens to what they are saying before anybody else does instead of saying the first thing that comes to mind because they are in a rush to make money.

How do you feel you can cHange tHe out-look of florida rappers and wHat can you bring to tHe table tHat will make you unique in tHe game rigHt now?

I really rep my city, Ocala, and my state, Florida. So when people hear my music it is not hard to tell where I am from and where I represent. I don’t want to change the outlook of Florida rappers in a major way; I just want to contribute to what’s already good and help push into the background any unnecessary mu-sic. I bring a sense of reality to the mu-

sic. Instead of seeing a rapper do a song, it’s more of a regular guy that is doing something anybody can do, I just happen to put more thought and concen-tration to what I am saying.

do you Have any otHer comments for your fans and tHe readers?

I appreciate all the support that I have been get-ting. It’s very hard to stay humble but I’m still man-aging to be. Keep “liking” the fan page and spread-ing the word about my music by “suggesting” the page. After all, I do this for all of you to enjoy be-cause I enjoy it when you enjoy my music. Any artist that would like to collaborate with me, things are pretty busy for me at the moment with my upcom-ing album, but once that is released I will be open for business. I’m all about supporting good music and good talent.

How can you be contacted outside of tHe bootH?You can find my “CKFlawless” Fan Page on Face-

book, www.myspace.com/ck,Twitter @CKFlawleSS, and [email protected]. I’m always ready to make some music with anybody who sounds in-spiring and are willing to meet strict standards of music.

I t’s been weeks since the Lak-ers beat the Celtics and became NBA Champions for the second

year in a row. I wasn’t happy about it then, and I’m still not happy now. I’m not going to be a sore loser about it or make excuses but let’s be hon-est, you know as well as I do that the referees were wrong. Yes, I know the final score and that is what matters. However when the Lakers are go-ing to the line more than double the amount of times as the Celtics there is something wrong.

The NBA refs and the World Cup refs must be in cahoots because it was the ref who robbed the USA of a win against Slovenia. The video clearly shows there was no foul committed

by the American players. That “invisible” foul dis-counted the goal that would have put the USA up 3-2 in the final minutes. Fortunately for the United States soccer team bad calls didn’t cost them the championship.

In American Football news, Commissioner Rog-er Goodell is contemplating extending the regular

season from 16 games to 18. It doesn’t seem as if this idea is going over very well with many of the players. More games mean more risk of injury before even reaching the playoffs. I’m sure I’m not the only fan that would love a longer football sea-

son. But there would be no sea-son without the players. More games equal more revenue. The NFLPA (National Football League Players Association) wants to know if the players would benefit from the money earned in the two additional weeks. I agree, I want com-pensation for two additional minutes of work let alone two weeks. Whatever decisions the Commissioner chooses I hope it’s as fair as possible.

The NCAA made the deci-sion that Reggie Bush was in-

eligible for the Heisman in the wake of the USC scandal. Should the Heisman Trophy Trust strip Bush of the trophy, it will be awarded to Vince Young. Although I understand the logistics behind such a decision, I don’t think it makes much sense. Whether Reggie Bush was technically ineligible or

not, he still received the most votes because of his performance. He can still say he won the Heisman if they strip him of it or not. Good for Vince Young.

ON THE TWIRL addresses the theory “There is nothing to do in Orlando”. Event socialite – Brandi Nikole will give you a taste of Central Florida’s upcoming event & Fabski hot spots beyond the club doors.

Here I twirl again on my own. Twirlin down the only road I’ve ever known! You may be caught up in the same routine of Orlando’s nightlife, and looking for something diff erent to do. Well have no fear! Brandi’s here! Come twirl with me to this far-from-regular event coming up at the end of July. Guaranteed to expose you to something new, something diff erent, something…COOL!

Leaders of a New Cool July 28 at 57 WestThis traveling Hip Hop concert is a new form of creative talent search that has been traveling across the country for a couple of years. Featuring emerging new talent from all over, Leaders of the New Cool (LOTNC) builds that bridge between the talent and the industry professionals they need to connect with; as well as exposing fans to diversely talented artists and a live stage performance. LOTNC has produced shows in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, LA, Washington DC, and Austin. Some of the talents featured on the showcase prior to signing major record deals include Laws (Warner/Asylum), Big KRIT (Def Jam), Donnis (Atlantic), Spree Wilson (Jive), and Pill (Warner/Asylum).

LOTNC is presented by Hollywood East Entertainment, and is headed by Chris Turners busi-ness partner, Dominique Maldonado. This event is not for the amateur artists. This is for hard-working, grind hustling, new talents that have their own strong buzz in their hometowns and large internet push behind them. “When you attend LOTNC , you can expect to be entertained, educated, and exposed to artists who will be the stars of tomorrow,” says Dominque. LOTNC will be here in Orlando on July 28th at 57 West in down-town Orlando. The doors open at 9pm, and the show starts at 10pm. “This Orlando’s lineup will include artists from Orlando, DC, Chicago and more”, Dominique tells me. “One artist we’re really excited about is bringing Freddie Gibbs, who appears on this year’s XXL Freshman cover. All the talent is diverse and really strong performers”. LOTNC is not your typical talent show-case that you may be used to hearing about, ignoring, and not even bothering to attend. Hol-lywood East Entertainment have a strong vision for LOTNC and they are dedicated to “show the fans and music industry that Hip Hop is NOT dead and there is just as much diversity and talent out there as there has always been” Dominique says. “Websites like MySpace and Twitter are actually a blessing and a curse for new artists because it’s so easy to create a profi le and upload music, but it also makes it diffi cult for fans to weed [through] it all and fi nd what they really like. We really take the time to do that and give the fans performances from the artists they really should be checking for.”

So, you think you’re cool enough and you want to perform? You can contact and follow Hol-lywood East Entertainment and Leaders of the New Cool on Twitter@Hollywood_East @Sun-shineDbaby @TheEventJunkies @ShellyFlash and @LOTNC. Be sure to twirl out for this one! It’s guaranteed to be an artist showcase unlike anything Orlando has ever seen before!

CD on Review : : THE ALBERT ANASTASIA

RICK ROSS’S MIXTAPE

The mixtape movement has begun to trump the anticipa-tion of the album release and I LOVE IT! Free music is so dope but

beyond that; the fact that you can test, enjoy, hate or become a fan on your own terms is organically refresh-ing. Think about it, you get the true essence of the artist minus the “I must make a hit for radio” theory.

Recently, I was turned on to Rick Ross’ lat-est mixtape titled “ The Albert Anastasia” and was pleasantly surprise. There was no host or homeboy yelling over every track LOL and it was well-produced like a full length album.

This mixtape has something for several sectors of the hip hop consumer base - Men, women, radio folks and the always pres-ent “The Streets.” Ross pays homage to the unlikely rap icon MC Hammer, with the track titled after the “To Legit” artist. My favorite line is “she talks dirty but her mouth’s clean” – I love a good play on words (ha ha). Mr. 305 did not forget about the ladies on this proj-ect, as he teams up with Ne-yo for the smooth mood setter record - “Super High.”

“The Albert Anastasia” truly shows Ross’s growth and broad scope of his lyrical identity. But don’t get it twisted, he still reps the streets with the track “BMF” which has received love from DJs & radio stations alike. So take a FREE listen to some Maybach music - Maybach not required - because overall Rick Ross’ mixtape is certifi ed what’s goodie.

What the range of music do you spin and what audience do you appeal to? I like to spin Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae and Top 40’s. My love for music allows me to play just about anything but my real passion is for those genres.

Now that you’re well-known in Mass., CT and Bermuda, where will you be expanding? I am looking in all areas, Florida is definitely the next spot on my map. I have made a few connections in VA, Cali, NYC, and Japan.

What else is in store for you and what can we be looking for? I’m working on getting a monthly club spot in different areas. Live internet radio is coming soon to a dot.com near you. Hopefully some overseas business in the near future, if things continue to go smoothly with Japan.

FAME, the most addictive drug in the world!

You want to walk in the club like you are Nino Brown in New Jack City. You want your photo on the cover of Flyer Promo Now or in the photo gallery of Ozone Magazine. You want to pop bottles in VIP like a rock star. You want the money, the lights, the cars, and the jewels. You want everyone to know your name? You want to be THAT dude or THAT chick? Really? But are you ready to pay the price?

In life everyone wants to be accepted, validated and belong to something. Whether it’s at church, in a Greek organization or at your job.

Many people get into entertainment for all of the wrong reasons. I have heard plenty of Artists say to me “I just want to make music to get into the club for free.” Once you have that hit single; or throw that big party your life will drastically change; now ev-eryone will know your name. Is that a good thing?

Now that you are a “public fi gure” you have to live up to what the “public” thinks of you. Jealousy and envy comes along with it. People will rob and kill to be you. On the surface you are this big promoter, dj, artist, exec but behind the scenes you have major fi nancial problems, your boyfriend wants to leave you, your sick father lives with you that you take care of everyday, you don’t know where your next meal is coming from or you was robbed at your house. Yet you try to maintain this image and pressure to be “famous” because it’s what expected. I say all the time if people really knows what goes behind the scenes that we are normal people. Don’t go broke fi nancially or mentally trying to be something that you are not.

I do believe that image is everything and you have to dress/act for the job you have or want. If you are an NFL Pro bowler; you shouldn’t be fi ghting in a club. If you are a Model; you shouldn’t be sleeping with every ball player. If you are the District Manager for Mc Donald’s you have to learn how to fi t in the corporate world. Fame changes you; and you have to change with it.

B lind Perfection consists of two members Mario Johnson (Yodi Fresh) and Jamal Davis (Mr. Harmony). Mario Johnson, born in Detroit, MI on September 27, 1990 got into music at

a young age. He fi rst started off wanting to be a singer. He started performing in local talent shows, but when the excitement of rap-ping struck him it was a wrap! He started rapping with friends on the street corners and fell in love with rapping. Since then he has been on his grind doing anything possible to make it in the industry.

Jamal Davis born in Brooklyn, NY on June 10, 1989 as well got into music at a young age. Singing in his local church choir and various gospel groups he built a strong love for singing. Since he was a child he has dreamed of making it big in the music biz and has been doing what he can to make that dream come true. These two met back in 2008 while attending Dunnellon High School in Dunnellon, Fl. They had no idea of each other especially about one another’s musical talent. Mario hearing about the singing ability of Jamal approached him and asked him to do a feature on one of his solo tracks not knowing that in that moment they would begin a strong friendship musically and personally. From that point on they were always associated with one another as if they were a set pack-age of socks or something. The group has a unique name in Blind Perfection. They came to this name, the Blind standing for notes and sounds that cannot be seen and the Perfection being the sound that appeals to people’s ears which is the perfect sound. This group is the perfect blend of hip hop, pop and R&B. With this perfect mix there is nothing that this group cannot achieve.

can quantify the full impact of this disaster. Businesses, families’ livelihood, cities, and towns’ economies are being destroyed and no where in the country or the world are there solutions or tech-nology too plug this leak.

The shenanigans of BP CEO Tony Hayward should have proved to President Obama that this company is only concerned with making a profit. Last week during a congressional hearing the CEO was not able to answer many of the questions and he felt that his company was doing their best under the circumstances.

On the other hand, many of the congressional representatives felt that BP was doing a terrible job and the present CEO should be forced out of his position. Many of the representatives felt that

the CEO was dragging his feet and was not operating with a sense of urgency.

At this juncture in the clean up campaign, gallons of oil have been removed from the water through burn-ing, skimming, and other collection methods. “Over 5.5 million feet of boom has been laid across the water to block and absorb the approaching oil.

We’ve approved the construction of new better barrier islands in Louisiana to try to stop the oil before it reaches the shore, and we’ve working with Alabama, Mississippi and Florida to imple-ment creative approaches to their unique coastlines.”

Oil spills are happening all over the world and it is time for an ecological international law, where multinational giants like BP are prosecuted for damage to the environment. There should be an international court that could imprison the CEO and put pres-sure on the company to completely repair the damage.

Internationally and nationally, it is time to put pressure on BP. President Obama can talk tough, but he needs an international body that can enforce sanctions and put executives in prison. Without international ecological and environmental laws, which hold multinational companies accountable for their damage and destruction, it is only about profits from their perspective.

BP PUTS 20 BILLION IN ESCROW FOR THE OIL SPILL DISASTER

A s our country moves into over 60 days of the worse environmental and ecological disaster in our country’s history, many political pundits think it is good that

President Obama is putting pressure on BP. BP has agreed to put $20 billion in an escrow account to settle claims that are made by businesses, environmental concerns and individuals impacted by the oil spill.

These claims will be handed by a third party and many Americans who live in the states that have been devastated by the spill are beginning to believe in the Obama administration. In a speech last week, President Obama promised that he would put pressure on BP and not stop until many of the residents are made whole.

With all this tough talk and a suc-cessful capping of the leak, oil is still gushing out of the hole, and everyone is still pointing fingers. In the first quarter of 2010, BP made a profit of 5.5 billion dollars and with the cap they are able to capture thousands barrels of oil daily, but the oil is still leaking. Recently President Obama has promised that BP will soon put another cap on the pipe and it will secure 90% of the oil leaking from the pipe.

President Obama has made three additional trips to the region and Admiral Thad Allen has been the point person in charge of the largest environmental clean up in the history of our country. “We now have nearly 30,000 personal who are working across four states to contain and clean up the oil. Thousands of ships and other vessels are responding and helping in the gulf.”

President Obama is aware that the ecological and ecosystems are being destroyed and many families who for generation have made their livelihood on the water are now unemployed., There is no telling if they will ever return back to their way of life. The fishermen and women who would be making thousands of dol-lars now, their boats are sitting on the decks.

As the oil is impacting 125 miles of Louisiana coastline and starting to close down the beaches on the Florida coast, no one
