Metrycom allows utilities companies to extract the value inherent to the Internet of Things by empowering them with continuous visibility over their high voltage transmission and distribution lines, while reducing maintenance costs and, increasing both reliability and safety.

Our technology combines smart induction sensors, self-developed low-cost mesh radios and proprietary algorithms to detect flashovers and variations in the electrical field patterns. These readings are translated into relevant and useful information that is processed, mapped and visualized for network managers and maintenance engineers.

Due to our hands-on experience and unique interdisciplinary know-how, we have developed a cost-effective solution, which recoups its deployment within months.

Dedicated to addressing the needs of power companies Since 2008, Metrycom has been providing rapidly deployed ultra-low power consumption wireless sensor solutions for large area applications. We enable power utilities to gain better visibility on their transmission and distribution lines, which suffer from isolator strings contamination and faults, typically in remote locations.

In 2010 Metrycom teamed up with the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC), one of Metrycom’s shareholders, to utilize the experience and knowledge of both companies for the development of an inexpensive and practical solutions which resulted in a complete sensing and radio solution for high voltage lines that could be deployed live on transmission lines.

Metrycom’s proprietary sensor solutions are now deployed by the IEC and additional power utilities worldwide for partial discharge (PD) monitoring on transmission lines and fault locating on transmission and distribution lines, especially in remote rural areas. Through its sensor and data analysis technologies, Metrycom leads high voltage line monitoring and Smart T&D Grids sectors.

The MetrySense Product Suite The MetrySense solution comprises easy-to-deploy, low-energy smart wireless sensors that automatically create an IPv6 mesh network, which in turn provides access to smart grid elements such as re-closers and meters, with the benefit of instant and extended territorial coverage. MetrySense’s powerful analytical software employs proprietary algorithms that predict and locate faults in High Voltage grids.

Metrycom provides visibility on remote segment of the grid, performance of aging equipment and the ability to monitor the evolution of potential failures and hazards over time. Having the benefit of such a deep and comprehensive view on every aspect of the distribution network, management can now precisely address maintenance issues only where and when required, rather than replacing and maintaining equipment periodically, which until now has been based on statistical estimations.

Modular Wireless Self-Configurable IPv6 Connectivity and Control System

MetrySense-3000 is a modular low-power outdoor connectivity system that interfaces digital and analog sensors, meters and actuators and connects them via a low power wireless mesh-network to IP gateways and remote monitoring centers.

Innovative technology addressing power line insulator string contamination that acts as a Partial Discharge (PD) monitoring system for transmission companies who wants to:

The MS4000 monitors the line and provides information when ageing insulators need replacement. The MS4000 solution enables power utilities to:

Smart Grid solution for Rural Networks that identifies and locates grid faults as well as fault type

Metrycom’s Rural Networks Smart Grid Solution is based on its novel MetrySense-5000 (MS5000) sensors, which is an integrated overhead line monitoring solution possessing an advanced proprietary and inexpensive radio network capability, specifically designed to operate on medium voltage (MV) networks.

Smart Analytics & Visualization

The MetryView server performs two-way communications between deployed MetrySense sensors and RTUs in the field, analyzes collected data partially analyzed by the sensors, and visualizes analysis results featuring a well-conceived UI/UX.
