Alumni Office Room 1W9 Isaac Honor - Internship Coordinator [email protected] INTERNSHIP NOTICE #32 Important Note: If you are selected for the internship, please inform Mr. Honor IMMEDIATELY via email at: [email protected] Today’s Teens, Tomorrow’s Techies (T4) is a technology volunteer program designed to provide Brooklyn youths, ages 14 to 18, with access to FREE enhanced technology training and volunteer opportunities at Brooklyn Public Library (BPL). The program provides an introduction to future careers in technology and public librarianship. Training workshops for the T4 Volunteer Program begins July 2013. Workshops include topics such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In addition, teens will be taught interpersonal skills, how to troubleshoot computer problems, navigate the internet, and create a résumé. Upon successful completion of the 8 day workshop, teens will volunteer during the school year at a BPL location of their choice. This program provides a great opportunity for teens to use free time during the summer in a structured learning environment that promotes growth, development, and leadership skills. We encourage high school administrators, teachers, and guidance counselors to inform students and parents about this training and volunteer opportunity. Interested students can apply for T4 at their local BPL location or by visiting: www.brooklynpubliclibrary.org<http://www.brooklynpubliclibrary.org/ >. In closing, we included a T4 flyer and application. Please feel free to make copies, forward, or post this letter and the accompanying promotional materials. “Albert Einstein once said, ‘The only source of

knowledge is experience.’ As I finish my T4

experience at the Library, not only has my knowledge

of computers broadened, but I had an opportunity to

work with the most wonderful people in my

community. In a broad sense, I felt like part of a

family in the Library. My experience here will not

stop, and I will continue to volunteer at the Brooklyn

Public Library.”
